Karhu Storm BC Telemark Ski

March 6, 2009

i own the pair myself, and it really depends on how you set the edge, what conditions the snow is, where you're skiing and what type of binding. the ski corners great in backocuntry conditions (which it's made for) especially the windblown powder. i have a BD 01 on the ski and is great for getting an edge in. Where it doesn't excel is on the resort, and bumpy high speed turning. (Great for going fast in bumpy crud) i hope that answers your question.

Voile Switchback Telemark Ski Binding

January 18, 2009

the voile by far: simpler (hence more solid), lighter, more affordable, can change modes without being flat on the snow (it just locks in whenever you put your foot down, and cartridges that won't back off on you. But, again, it is all personal preference. If you want a release binding, the 7tm is good, but for the weight, to simplicity to price ratio, the voile is the way to go. I also own a pair of black diamond 01's, and if you're skiing big lines and jumping cliffs, the bd sticks your boot to the ski, and engage quicker.

Scarpa T-Race Telemark Ski Boot

January 5, 2009

yes, they make the t1 raceThe reason they're not using the lace up is because they're now using the intuition liner, and putting laces in it might void the patent, but i'm not sure. The intuition liner is really nice, and i think when heat molded, there would be no need to have the laces

Rottefella NTN Telemark Ski Binding

January 2, 2009

Do you bend your toe when you are in the binding. It doesn't seem like it would. Also, because over 40% of knee injuries happen when you fall back, does the binding release from backward pressure?

The best leash ever

Black Diamond ClipWire Ski Leash

Black Diamond ClipWire Ski Leash

Rating for this product: 5 November 28, 2008

This leash is da bomb!! It never ices up, and it is plenty long to get to any boot with any binding. I've never heard of one breaking, and simply apply pressure to the pivoting wire, and you're hooked in.

Great Stiffness

Scarpa T1 Telemark Ski Boot

Scarpa T1 Telemark Ski Boot

Rating for this product: 5 November 26, 2008

well, i'm an up and coming telemarker (age 15), and have been doing it for two years now. This was the first boot i ever purchased and i don't think I will buy an other boot (unless the black diamond fit changes). The stiffness is great for my weight (130 lbs) and integrates well with the BD 01's and the Viole sx. Definitely a go-to boot when in doubt.

Make sure the fit is good (runs narrower than the garmonts)
