Even better than the Precip

Marmot Aegis Jacket - Men's

Marmot Aegis Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 18, 2011

Wifey got me the Precip last year for my birthday and it held up great during the NYC t-storms all summer, but I felt it could be more breathable. I got the Aegis a few weeks ago, and although the mugginess hasn't hit yet, the jacket is even lighter and more breathable by far, so I can't wait to test it out. The hood is great, not too huge, not too snug (the precip was a bit tight I felt), and the waterproofing is awesome. I wore it last week in mid-40's rain all day and was dry as a bone. The neck/collar is a bit stiff, but hey, it kept me dry. Runs true to size also - 5-9, 180 lbs, L fits great.

Awesome shorts

Mountain Hardwear Talus Short - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Talus Short - Men's

Similar to the review below, MHW runs a bit snug, so buy up if you're on the fence. Having said that, the material is stretchy but tough, dries incredibly fast, and has good pocket space. I wore them for a two-day trip in the always humid Hudson Valley region of lower NY and they stayed dry and comfortable all weekend. Added bonus: my wife actually lets me were these out with a t-shirt on the weekends b/c they look so cool. Well worth the $75.

100% Windproof

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 11, 2009

I just wore this for the first time this morning walking through midtown Manhattan: 20 degrees + 27 winds = 6 with the wind chill and I didn't feel the slightest hint of a breeze through this. I'm 5-9, 175 athletic build and the large fits great. It's incredibly light but clearly does the job. For the functionality, looks, and awesome price (currently $130 on BC) it's a no-brainer.
