The North Face Redpoint Optimus Insulated Jacket - Men's

May 26, 2009

Yes but I would not trust it to keep water off of the MP3 player. I would put the mp3 player in some type of water protection thing and then put it in the pocket.

Native Eyewear Silencer Interchangeable Sunglasses - Polarized

May 26, 2009

Im not exactly sure what you're asking but these glasses fit a small to medium frame pretty well. It would be hard for these glasses to appear large on anyone's head.

One of the best

Katadyn Hiker Pro Water Microfilter

Katadyn Hiker Pro Water Microfilter

Rating for this product: 5 May 26, 2009

I love my hiker pro filter. Just remember to take out the actual filtering part and let it dry after each trip or it will mold like mine did, and filters are expensive to replace.

Mountain Khakis Teton Twill Pants - Men's

Mountain Khakis Teton Twill Pants - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 26, 2009

These are my only Mountain Khaki pants I own and I love them. They are great for the mountains or for occasions when more formal attire is required. I have worn these with a button down shirt and they go great. the extra pocket is a nice touch. These hold up great and are extremely tough material and thread. Get these pants.

Teva Karnali Wraptor Sandal - Men's

Teva Karnali Wraptor Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 26, 2009

These are like a cross between keens and chacos. They are pretty comfortable for every day wear but also work great on the trail and in the stream. They dry pretty quick with the quick drying design. They are easy to adjust comfortably on your feet. Im looking for more outdoor footwear brands to make shoes like these.

Therm-a-Rest Trail Lite Sleeping Pad

Therm-a-Rest Trail Lite Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 4 May 26, 2009

I love my therma rest. I have used it numerous times backpacking and camping and it has never failed me. Althought it doesnt self inflate. I usually just blow it up manually right when I unroll it to get it out of the way. I would still buy this because blowing it up yourself is no big deal.

A Classic

Nalgene Wide Mouth Tritan Bottle - 32oz

Nalgene Wide Mouth Tritan Bottle - 32oz

Rating for this product: 5 May 26, 2009

Nalgene water bottles have been classics in the outdoor industry for years and always will be. Even with new innovative stuff like the Platypus water bottles (which are nice) the Nalgene bottles are still a hit. Virtually indestructible, you can do many things with them. You can eat your freeze dries meal in it and can put boiling water in it without the fear of it melting. If its cold you can boil water and tuck it in your sleeping bag with you. If you are new to the outdoors or just dont have one of these bottles I suggest getting one. You won't regret it.

Eagles Nest Outfitters SingleNest Hammock

Eagles Nest Outfitters SingleNest Hammock

Rating for this product: 5 May 26, 2009

Wow where do I start. This hammock rocks. Whether your an ultra-light backpacker or just want to chill in the backcountry or your backyard you need this ENO hammock. I bring mine on every backpacking trip even if im bringing my tent along. It is so comfortable, lightweight, and easy set up. I started with auto straps for setting it up but I bought some BlueWater climbing webbing because it was sturdier and less weight. I love this hammock!

Vasque Velocity VST GTX Trail Run Shoe - Men's

Vasque Velocity VST GTX Trail Run Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 26, 2009

I heard these were the most popular shoe on the Appalachain Trail in 2008 so I had to try them out. Not the most comfortable shoe but they seem like the would hold up well after a ton of miles on the trail.

Good but...

Montrail Continental Divide Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Montrail Continental Divide Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 26, 2009

I love the look of these shoes with them being trail runners. They have a great look and cut but after my first short overnighter with these the Montrail logo on each side of the shoe started to wear off. So on one side it says M il, and the other side Montr il. I know the logo doesn't effect its performance but I would think the logo should stay on, even when used in the backcountry.

Rating for this product: 3 February 3, 2009

Mountain Hardwear is a great brand and is top quality. This Tent is quality but a bit too small for two people. If your planning on sleeping 2 people in this good luck. Great as a one man tent though.
