Good look, baggy fit

Rip Curl Twist Jacket - Women's

Rip Curl Twist Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 February 17, 2009

This is a pretty snazzy-looking jacket, and has a lot of good features like the detachable hood and underarm zips. But I'm 5'11" and the fit is a little too baggy and short for me, so I ended up returning it. Good level of insulation, but for colder days, I think I would definitely need several layers underneath. Seems like a good deal for the price.

Good shell for taller women

Special Blend Siryn Jacket - Women's

Special Blend Siryn Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 17, 2009

A very good-looking jacket that is longer for the taller ones and looks sleek. I really liked that it has so many pockets, but the overlapping flaps on the front lower ones seem a little inconvenient for quick access. It's just a shell and I was looking for more insulation, so I decided to return it, even though I kinda wanted to keep it. ;) Waterproof fabric is great, and the inside has a cool design.

Prone to slouching, but WARM!

Bridgedale All Mountain Heavyweight Ski Sock - Women's

Bridgedale All Mountain Heavyweight Ski Sock - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 17, 2009

These are very warm socks, and true to their "heavyweight" name. So if you're used to wearing mid- to lightweight socks with your ski boots, these might not work for that purpose. But every-day use will keep your digits super cozy! The only issue I find with these is that the upper "cuff" is not made as heavy-duty as the rest of the sock and don't fit as tightly, so I find that they slouch a little bit (but this might be because I got a size too small).

I love the gunmetal/raspberry color - I get lots of compliments on their look. :)

Nice feel and NOT itchy!

The North Face Softwool Crew Long Underwear Top - Women's

The North Face Softwool Crew Long Underwear Top - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 December 18, 2008

This is a great, high-quality baselayer - since I bought it a month or two ago, I've worn it on the slopes everytime, and I've never gotten cold. The thumb holes are especially helpful for pulling on sweaters and ski jackets over it.

The only downside is that, like most outdoor apparel for women, it seems like it's made for petite-to-average-sized females. I'm 5' 11" and weight 135lbs, and the length of this baselayer is too short for me, while the width is a little too baggy. I end up having to wear a long tank top underneath (which kind of defeats the purpose of a baselayer...). If I had ordered a size up, it would've been way too baggy.

Overall, though, this is a toasty, non-itchy, and investment-worthy baselayer that's also good for wearing around town or for apres-ski.

Great socks for skiing!

eesa Plaid Sock

Rating for this product: 5 December 18, 2008

These are great socks!! Not only are they cute, they're warm and they're the perfect weight/thickness (midweight) for wearing with ski boots, and they don't sag.

I wear a women's size 9.5 and I bought the S/M size - which I thought would be too small once I saw them. But they actually fit perfectly, and I've very happy with this purchase. (and they don't shrink in the wash)
