Big Agnes Seedhouse SL3 Super Light Tent: 3-Person 3-Season

December 11, 2009

I had been stuck trying to find a big enough tent that was still light enough to haul into the backcountry. Like most 3 person tents I think if you go for 3 adults you better not be shy...but for two people and 1 or 2 large dogs who prefer the inside to the roomy vestibule, it's been perfect.

It's a bottle. It's pretty.

Backcountry.com Klean Kanteen Powder-Coated Bottle - 27oz

Backcountry.com Klean Kanteen Powder-Coated Bottle - 27oz

Rating for this product: 3 January 5, 2010

Personally, I like that the mouth of the bottle is wide enough to get a good drink or pour from easily. The cap is stout and can see it standing up to any caribeener inflicted abuse when attached to a pack or bag. In the truck I like that it can fit in a cup holder comfortably (seems simple but with other bottles I usually make it halfway across a parking lot before I realize the rubber cup insert is still attached to the bottle).

Here's the downside: as others have pointed out, the cap does leak if not 100% locked down. I mindlessly feel the cap engage the screw top, encounter resistance when turning, and hear the 'squeak' of a seal forming and assume it's closed. You will learn quickly to go at least another quarter turn (or learn the hard way through a leak). Have heard this is an issue with klean kanteen in general...not a big deal, just something to keep in mind.

Cool Points: Backcountry does add a splash of cool with the powder coat. In fact, I fear girlfriend will swipe it because she thinks it's a pretty blue and the 'goat is cool'. Screw cap aside, I plan to add a few more of these to my arsenal.

Durable, Stable. Supportive

Pearl Izumi Syncro Seek 2 Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Pearl Izumi Syncro Seek 2 Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 16, 2008

I'm a big dude and was looking for a shoe for some light trail action. Wore these to the gym and the support and stability felt good so I started running. Couple weeks later I am still running without any foot or joint pain. I love them.
