I use my Stride 25s on packed trails and off-trail in the woods. I can walk comfortably with a normal gait (no Frankenstein walk). I bought the 25s in case I have a pack or more gear, yet I can still run pretty easily with them (for my height/weight I could also wear 21s). In deep snow, they sometimes kick up a little snow on my back, but it doesn't bother me. The bindings stay pretty secure and the quick release buckle on the heel is handy; I have had a couple incidents of the bindings loosening, but I can tighten the straps and secure the bindings without removing my gloves.
They are well made and work well on steep terrain as well; last weekend I hiked up hill with a sheet of ice on the top and the crampons held tight.

The North Face Boundary Triclimate Jacket - Boys'

January 31, 2009

Yes, the shell has two zippers and the fleece zips into the shell easily. The shell has snap loops to keep the fleece sleeves connected.

The North Face Boundary Triclimate Jacket - Boys'

December 16, 2008

I think so; this is my son's second triclimate. He wears a base layer, fleece or sweater and the triclimate and is plenty warm skiing in Vermont.

Versatile jacket

The North Face Boundary Triclimate Jacket - Boys'

The North Face Boundary Triclimate Jacket - Boys'

Rating for this product: 5 December 16, 2008

Bought this jacket for 11-year old son. He wore his old triclimate for two years and got a lot of use out of it, so we decided to simply order the next size larger. The fleece is midweight (not as thick as Denali); suitable for a dry fall or spring day. The shell is waterproof and suitable for three seasons. Zipped together and layered on top of a light base layer and additional fleece or vest, he's ready to face a cold day on the mountain. Great, versatile jacket for the price with all the right features.
