Rejuvenating fresh scent

Nikwax Wool Wash

Nikwax Wool Wash

Rating for this product: 5 March 28, 2011

I ride my bike all year long and especially for winter season I use merino wool garments exclusively. I just came back from the laundromat done with a triple load of wool. Front loader machine only (top loader has an agitator which hurts the fabrics), NikWax wool wash and hang dry afterwards. All my clothes are softer and has a natural lemon/lime scent, better then new from the box. All my happy sheep brand clothes (Icebreaker, Ibex, Sugoi, Endura, Helly Hansen, Swoobo or Darn Tough) demands NikWax!

Exped DownMat Sleeping Pad

January 15, 2011

I did my research about the Exped Downmat and a troubling video came up on YouTube.
It could be that your sleeping pad deflating might evolve into a problem. Consider it
before you take the mat on a longer trip. A series of them may develop perforation.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDC_DewtAOk

In conclusion, make sure you buy it from backcountry.com
because of their excellent customer service and exchange policy.

Helly Hansen Packable Hybrid Pant - Men's

Helly Hansen Packable Hybrid Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 6, 2010

I work in this pants all day at the Shelter over a year and this pair of pants holds up against rough and tough dog plays and keep me dry all the time. Sometimes bleach spills on them and the power wash surface its sleeves and no damage done yet. They fully cover my Patagonia Drifter GTX shoes and they work wonders together. I'm about to order another Helly packable from this site.

KEEN Torino Lace Shoe - Men's

KEEN Torino Lace Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 17, 2009

My first pair of Keen shoes. They are great.
Even some tough 'work horses' look good, so does this Keen Torino shoes. I bought them for work where I usually walk in and get sprayed by water. They are made of waterproof leather and the sole is sewn on too for durability. It's amazing how comfortable they are, it feels like a promenade on a sandy beach barefoot.

The North Face Classic Denali Fleece Jacket - Boys'

The North Face Classic Denali Fleece Jacket - Boys'

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2009

I bought this boys jacket, because its XL size matched to me. I tailored off the sleeves to transform this jacket into a vest.

I use the cut off sleeves as a layer under my shoe gaiter. Worked out for me, just perfect.

Marmot Afterburner Fleece Jacket - Men's

January 18, 2009

I'm 6' tall skinny 160 pound athletic 32 years old.Get one size bigger than the chart says. I use twoof these Marmot afterburner jackets for winter bikecommuting. One Large and one XLarge on the top of it. In general for 20F and below I have an EMS techwick base layer. I put my Mountain hardwear powerstrech suitand these two Marmot afterburner jackets. This set upprovides enough comfort and heat for an hour bike ridein the brisk winter. One more thing, the draw cords at the bottom of the jacketis useful so the insulation is perfect even if I stand by:)

DAKINE Rail Belt

DAKINE Rail Belt

Rating for this product: 5 December 8, 2008

I always liked the idea of rail belts. Dakine's built in bottle opener is a nice touch, but I open one beer bottle with an aid of another one. About the belt, it's one of the well made and precious item I'm satisfied with that I will order another one soon. One size fits all, need to cut the excessive part off.

Mountain Hardwear Dome Perignon Beanie

Mountain Hardwear Dome Perignon Beanie

Rating for this product: 5 November 24, 2008

Bought it in a retail shop. I tried on several hats and this one was the best fit. Besides, this beanie has potential. Make sure it fits to your head so it can do its job to protect you from wind and maintain continuous body heat [key. I mountain bike commute 10 miles to work around sunset and come home after midnight. Needed a hat that can keep my head and ears warm. This is it! Only one thing I miss is a razor from front that could shield off car head lights. But this thing is bike specific, the hat is perfect as is. I use my army logo Levis baseball hat on the top of this beanie. Bottom line:
There are some products so good that I will buy over and over again. Just like the Selle Italia Flight bike seat or for instance this Mountain Hardwear beanie.
