The hood is not removeable.There is a drawcord at the waist.I believe its 100g, but regardless it is very warm and light.

It is very durable, waterproof. Unlike the ripstop nylon used on North Face's down jackets, this is much thicker (but still light) and will stand up to abrasion without you having to worry.
