  • Stomping Grounds:

    WINTER: Layton, UT SUMMER: Polson,MT
  • Bio:

Born in Montana. Grew up in Colorado. And just moved to Utah. Guess you can safely assume I'm a mountain girl. In the summer you can find me on Flathead Lake in northwest Montana running Mountain Waters Recreation, a wakeboard/waterski shop I own with my best friend. We opened Mountain Waters Recreation in 2006 and absolutely love being able to cut morning glass everyday before work and endure wakeboard concussions every night after work! But after three winters in MT, I got sick of skiing in the fog and wet snow and moved back to a state with powder. To top it all off, I get to work for Backcountry.com and share my serious gear affliction with other equally troubled addicts.

Roxy Helter Skelter Ski Pole

Roxy Helter Skelter Ski Pole

Rating for this product: 5 February 27, 2009

So there I was skiing into the lift line and some 13 year old with more speed than turning ability takes me out! (Much to the entertainment of everyone else in line.) Needless to say I was piseed, especially when my pole was bent in the shape of a 'V'. When the lovely bf went to bend it back, of course it snapped and I was left skiing back to the parking lot like a skier with one peg leg, or atleast one pole. The happy ending is that I got these awesome new poles and they're super! The leather grips rock and leather straps are super easy to get on and off compared to my old canvas straps. The guys all wish they were man enough to rock ski poles from ROXY!

Good Boobie Holder

Under Armour UA Shaper Bra C - Women's

Under Armour UA Shaper Bra C - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 27, 2009

This is definitely more supportive for running than the A/B Under Armour sports bras. The only thing I don't like is that with a tight workout top, you can see the lines of the extra support cups.

Toaster Ovens for Your Hands!

DAKINE Cougar Mitten - Women's

DAKINE Cougar Mitten - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 27, 2009

If you want an uber warm mitten this is the one for you! I went from always having cold hands in other liner/mitten combos to just using this mitten and no liner and now my hands are toasty warm, some days too warm! Love the leather, the long gauntlets, and the stringy things you can wrap around your wrists to keep them attached to you even when not on your hands. Yeah little kids use the strings too, but hey you'll never see my mittens in the snow below the lift!

Backcountry.com Goat Organic Cotton Hooded Sweatshirt - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 2, 2009

Gave one to the boyfriend and one to the dad for Christmas and they both love them! Sizing is pretty true. Would say this hoodie is a little thinner compared to The North Face hoodies.

Awesome Ski Pant

The North Face Freedom Insulated Pant - Women's

The North Face Freedom Insulated Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 January 2, 2009

Just ordered my second pair of these. The first pair lasted me 8 ski seasons with many washings before they started to lose their waterproofing. They are a little high-waisted for me and I think the sizing has gotten bigger over the years. But still an awesome all-around snow pant!

I'm embarrassed to say how many Nalgene bottles I own but purchased this one in the 16oz size for my mom who has arthritic hands and it's the perfect size for her when hiking.

Really Good Fit and Look

Columbia Bayview Shirt - 3/4-Sleeve - Women's

Columbia Bayview Shirt - 3/4-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 2, 2009

Gave this to my mom for Christmas as a work shirt. Fits really well, which is a rare find since she has a rather large chest and has trouble finding button-up shirts that fit. Fabric has a nice finish to it as well.

Uber Warm!

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Parka - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Parka - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 2, 2009

This jacket is incredibly warm and still fairly stylish for a puffy down jacket. It has a flattering cut that doesn't make you look like the marshmellow man from Ghost Busters. I would say it runs pretty large, I got the XS and usually I would wear a Small or Medium in other jackets. Also think the sleeves are a bit short. Removable hood is a nice feature. Overall a great winter coat.
