What good is a bottle with a busted cap?

Backcountry.com Goat Klean Kanteen - 40 oz

Backcountry.com Goat Klean Kanteen - 40 oz

Rating for this product: 2 July 6, 2009

If you buy this bottle, just know the cap will break into 2 pieces. 1 will be the metal, screw-in plug that will become your functioning cap. It will have a razor-sharp edge on the top...enjoy that!

Backcountry acknowledges the issue but does not carry the plastic 1-piece top that KK makes. Once you replace the cap, with that one strait from KK, the bottle will last forever and taste great!

Smith Prodigy Turbo Fan Series Goggles - RC36 Lens

Smith Prodigy Turbo Fan Series Goggles - RC36 Lens

Rating for this product: 5 May 27, 2009

My dad struggled with foggy goggles his whole life. Both before contacts, when he had to wear glasses under goggles, and even after. He sweats a lot and this leads to foggy goggles. Cat crap only did the job for so long...

The weight of the fans and batteries is negligible and with these he has had NO fogging problems!

Why the hard plastic?

Yakima BigHorn 4 Bike Rack

Yakima BigHorn 4 Bike Rack

Rating for this product: 2 May 27, 2009

Rack is easy to slide into the hitch and does fit in there a little loosely, but the threaded bolt holds it in well. Adds about 15 seconds to the installation time. A little difficult to get the bikes on the rack because of the anti-sway cradles; again adds about 10 seconds to getting the bikes on...

But my beef is with the make of the cradles themselves. What is with the hard plastic? I scratched my brand new bike in 3 places (the 2 top-tube cradles and the seat-tube anti-sway cradle) using this rack. The straps are rubber and stretch, which is good because I am forced to put a shop-rag between the bike and the cradle to prevent further scratching...

Get the comparable Thule, the cradles are rubber(they also fit a bigger diameter tube), so your bike wont get scratched up.

Native Eyewear Silencer Interchangeable Sunglasses - Polarized

Native Eyewear Silencer Interchangeable Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 5 May 12, 2009

I'm on my third pair! I lost the first pair, broke the 2nd & got this 3rd pair thanks to the easy warranty! The user friendly lense interchange hasn't led to a pop-out problem if they are dropped; the lenses stay in place unless I take them out.

The only issue I have had (& I had it on all 3 pairs) is that the rubber ear pieces will come unglued and come off. This is fine with me though, actually makes them lighter and they still stick on my head with no problem when skiing, hiking or mtn. biking. I will only ever use these glasses!

DAKINE Nomad Hydration Bike Pack - 1100cu in

May 12, 2009

I got mine a little over a month ago and, contrary to the description, it came with the Hydrapak bladder...the one that is described on the DaKine website.

A steal on SAC

Backcountry.com Shift Welder Hoody - Men's

Backcountry.com Shift Welder Hoody - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 6, 2009

A little pricy on backcountry, but jump at the SAC price! As the other reviews state, this jacket rocks and handles just about anything you can throw at it or on it. The only drawback is the lack of adjustable wrists, but it would not prevent me from getting this again!

DAKINE Nomad Hydration Bike Pack - 1100cu in

May 6, 2009

On the backside of the outside of the helmet carry (the side that is up against the top of the helmet if used like in the picture on Dakine's site) has a pocket. That pocket has a tough foil-type lining, there is no mention of this pocket, which is great, but what is the purpose of the lining?

Great bag

DAKINE Nomad Hydration Bike Pack - 1100cu in

DAKINE Nomad Hydration Bike Pack - 1100cu in

Rating for this product: 5 May 6, 2009

Plenty of pockets for stashing stuff where you can get at it quickly. Love that there's a separate area (with a hanger) for the bladder. The description says it's a Nalgene reservoir, but mine came with a Hydrapak 100oz bladder, which is great b/c you can turn it inside out to dry it fast.
