Cute ski jacket

Columbia Paris Jacket - Women's

Columbia Paris Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 5, 2009

I have this in XS, Black. I wasn't bold enough to try bright pink, and I would get white dirty too easily. I can only comment on sizing so far, as it hasn't been quite cold enough to warrant wearing this jacket yet, aside from walking the dog at night in mid 30s weather. I tried both the XS and S, as according to the size chart, I am in the Small range for bust, and right in between XS and S for waist and hip. I felt like I was swimming in the Small, and my husband agreed it looked too big on me, so I kept the XS. Even with the XS I have room to easily layer a mid-weight fleece underneath. I like a lot of the details on this jacket including the slightly asymmetrical front zip and the subtle 'gingham' pattern, making it more interesting than a plain black jacket. I love that this coat has the underarm zips for when I get warm while skiing; powder skirt for skiing; the detachable hood is nice, though I will probably leave it on most of the time, and there are velcro flaps near the sleeve cuffs so you can made the sleeves a little tighter. The actual sleeve cuffs are a nice soft stretchy material that helps keep the sleeves in place, and securely fits over my mittens. In addition to the three outside pockets, on the inside right there is also a zip pocket and a mesh (goggle?) pocket; and on the inside left there's a snap pocket presumably for an mp3 player with an elastic loop to feed headphones through. Hood and bottom hem have an adjustable drawcord for a better fit too. Overall, this is a great slimmer fitting ski jacket with lots of cool features. If you are looking for a slimmer fit and you are between sizes, my suggestion is to size down. I will have to update after this jacket goes skiing in Vermont with me later this month.

Light vest good for running in Wind, Light Rain

The North Face Prolix Vest - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 December 4, 2009

This is a very thin vest, as in the description. Despite its thin-ness, it seems to provide a little bit of warmth. I bought this to wear as an outside layer while running in windy/light rain conditions. I wore it on a run the other day in 20mph winds, and it definitely made the weather more tolerable. I like that it's not too thick, because I don't like to be too warm when I run; the vent in the back is nice for this too. I like that both the front chest and back collar logos are reflective, for when I run in lower-visibility conditions. A note on sizing: I first ordered the Small, as I have a 35-36" chest and 26" waist, however I found it to be very baggy, and almost too much room in the armholes. I then ordered the XS which I find to fit much better - it is slimmer fitting, yet still plenty loose enough to wear over a long sleeve shirt. There's even enough room to wear it over my TNF TKA100-weight fleece (I'm not sure I'd want to though). A note on the color: I was expecting a light navy, but found it to be more blue in real life. Also, I couldn't see this in the pictures, but on the blue ribbon vest, the mesh inserts at the side are light blue, like the inside of the collar. I wasn't a huge fan of the blue myself, so when I ordered the XS I got it in black.

The North Face Momentum Fleece Jacket - Women's

December 2, 2009

I'd go for the XS as well. I'm 5'2", and 115-120lbs. According to TNF size charts, my chest puts me at a Small+ and my waist puts me at an XS. I prefer the fit of the XS. I'd go XS if she prefers a slimmer fitting jacket, as I do - I think the S would be loose on her. Good luck!

Good small pack

CamelBak Hydrobak Hydration Pack - 1.5L

CamelBak Hydrobak Hydration Pack - 1.5L

Rating for this product: 5 August 11, 2009

I ordered one of these in the blue/charcoal this spring, and started using it on my bike rides this summer. This was my first camelbak purchase. This pack is a great deal (especially when it was on sale for over $10 off) and holds all the water I need for an hour long bike ride in 80-90 degree summer weather. I chose this model for its "compact footprint and short length" as I am a smallish 5'2" female. The reservoir/bladder on this model just pulls out of the pack for easy cleaning or filling (though you can still easily fill it while it is in the pack). I can easily fit my cell phone and keys in the zip pocket on the back. The shoulder straps fit snugly and I don't have to worry about them slipping while I ride. I wish there was a better way to secure the excess of the adjustable straps (since I have them tightened most of the way, there is a lot of extra hanging down below my waist... I just use a rubber band to hold it together so it doesn't hang so far). While the bag is insulated, I like to fill it with some ice cubes anyway to keep my water extra cold (and it even keeps my back cooler). I would recommend this to a friend.

Great bra

Under Armour UA Shaper Bra C - Women's

Under Armour UA Shaper Bra C - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 August 9, 2009

Bought this in a size small as a 34C-turned-32D bra size; I'm happy with the fit and the support this gives me while running (up to 4 miles at a time, so far). My only complaint would be that the seams that run up the middle of each cup (hard to see in the picture here) are not as flat as they could be, and you can see the outline of the seams through a tight fitting tank/tee. Doesn't impact performance in anyway, but if you're looking for seamless, this isn't it. I like that it has cups built in and isn't purely compression; and I like that it's a bra for C/D cups that still has a racerback. Would definitely recommend, and I will probably buy a second for myself.

Nice, reasonably priced fleece.

Columbia Steens Mountain Full-Zip Jacket - Men's

Columbia Steens Mountain Full-Zip Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 23, 2009

Got a medium for my husband who is almost 6 feet tall; and somewhere around 170lbs. It fits him well and he wears it often. It is a nice layer to throw on while inside during the winter; and it is appropriate for fall, spring, and even winter when it's not quite cold enough for the wool winter coat. Price was great too!

Great sock

SmartWool PhD Running Ultra Light Micro Sock - Women's

SmartWool PhD Running Ultra Light Micro Sock - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 April 17, 2009

I ordered a pair of these last summer when I began running more seriously. Although these are a tad higher than SmartWool's micro mini running sock, there's not too much sock sticking above your shoe. I like that the top back of the sock is lightly padded, which is great when wearing my trail running shoes which come up a little higher on the heel. They stay in place while wearing them, and the fit is true to size. I love that they come in 3 sizes - with size 6 feet I often end up with adult socks that are too big, or I buy kids socks. I ordered a size small and they fit great. I recommend these - I am actually about to order myself another pair.

Great fit

The North Face TKA 100 Masonic Hooded Fleece Jacket - Women's

The North Face TKA 100 Masonic Hooded Fleece Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 1, 2008

I normally wear an XS or S in clothing. I ordered the size small in blue, and it fits great. My bust is 35", which is the upper end of the S according to TNF size charts, and it is a slim and flattering fit, but not too tight. I can still wear the fleece over a thin sweater, and it's not too tight. The sleeves are long enough, though that is not normally a problem for me. Even though I'm only 5'2", I enjoy the longer length; it falls just an inch or two past the top of my (low rise) jeans. I really like the shaping of this fleece, it's not baggy or "frumpy" at all (My TNF Denali fleece is a little on the baggier side, and not as flattering as the Masonic fleece). I'm happy with my purchase.

Nice Fitted Fleece

Marmot Flashpoint Hooded Fleece Jacket - Women's

Marmot Flashpoint Hooded Fleece Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 December 1, 2008

This is a nice lightweight fleece. I normally wear a women's XS or S - but Reading reviews that this had a "baggy fit" I ordered an XS (bust size 30-32) in Wood - despite my 35" bust. The XS was a very slim fit (but not *too* tight) for me, but the overall length and sleeve length were fine for my 5'2" self. I think I will be returning this and ordering a Small instead though. So I can comfortably wear a heavier shirt underneath. I believe a Small will still be fitted enough, as this is definitely cut for a female body. I would not call this a baggy fleece.

The North Face Khumbu Fleece Jacket - Women's

The North Face Khumbu Fleece Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 November 17, 2008

I am normally an xsmall or small in women's shirts (35" bust) and the size Small for this jacket fits just fine. I am able to put it on over a shirt & sweater and wear it zipped up, and it's slim fitting but definitely not tight. I'm 5'2" - and the torso and sleeve length were fine for me.

Marmot Flashpoint Hooded Fleece Jacket - Women's

November 11, 2008

To the people who said the fit is baggy... how do your own body measurements compare to the size chart measurements for the size you purchased? Would going down a size make it fit any slimmer?
