  • Bio:

I enjoy being outside as much as possible. Coming from upstate NY we don't get the nicest weather. So you have to motivate yourself on nasty days. But on nice days I think everyone feels like they have to be outside or its a wasted day. My main hobbies are Skiing, Mtn Biking and Hiking.

Columbia Omni-Dry Silver Ridge II Convertible Pant - Men's

Columbia Omni-Dry Silver Ridge II Convertible Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 November 9, 2009

I got these pants late in the hike season. A litle chilly right now but great for wet muddy terrain because they dry so fast. The fit is true to a little big. I'm going to buy another pair.

Marmot PreCip Jacket - Men's

Marmot PreCip Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 26, 2009

I have been using this jacket all the time ever since I bought it. I have used it a lot for Mtn Biking and it even got some use for skiing with a soft shell underneath. That being said the material is not very thick and would probably rip if I had gotten it snagged on something badly. Sizing is true on these and you can't beat it for a 3 season shell.

Handy

Black Diamond Spot Headlamp

Black Diamond Spot Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 March 26, 2009

I think these head lamps are the bomb. I have been using mine for camping, Mtn Biking, walking the dog, & going into the basement or garage at night. Anytime you are going to do something outside or in where it is a low light environment put this thing on your head. The best part about these is that the AAA batteries normally last forever in them!!!

Best Kiteboarding Waroo

March 23, 2009

I'm curious what size kite I should be looking for. I want to use it for water/Board and snow/Ski. I'm 6FT 220lbs and live outside of Syracuse NY. Wind I guess is OK out here.

Mixed Feelings

Marmot Alpinist Jacket - Men's

Marmot Alpinist Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 March 23, 2009

I really wanted to keep this shell when I got it but it was way too small for me in the Large. For Reference I'm 6 FT 220lbs. The arms and shoulders were way to tight for me. I think an XL would have fit better but the length would have been too long and clumsy. I liked the fabric and am considering the Marmot Torre for my next ski shell purchase.

Elan Magfire 82 XTI Ski w/ ELX12WB

Rating for this product: 4 March 23, 2009

I have had the Elan Magfire 14's for the past 2 seasons and love them. These skis are great almost everywhere on the mountain. Except tight trees and moguls due to their weight and stiff flex. As far as their handling goes they love to do GS turns and do not have a speed limit.

Marmot Cargo Pant - Men's

Marmot Cargo Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 19, 2009

I have owned Marmots Corbet, and Free Flight and these are the best for the price. I bought these in size large because the Marmot XL seems to be too big for me. For ref I'm 6Ft 220lbs. I used these pants all winter for Alpine Skiing, XC Skiing and walking my dog. They are very low key Snow pants and when it was cold and snowy outside I'd wear them to the store or around town. Bottom Line...If a friend wanted me to recommemd a snow pant. I'd tell them to save themselves $50-$100 and buy these.
