Won't break the Camel's back

CamelBak Unbottle Hydration Pack

CamelBak Unbottle Hydration Pack

Rating for this product: 5 July 14, 2009

You cannot go wrong with camelbak, they really do make the best hydration systems. Extremely durable, will not burst or leak even under a lot of pressure. The tube is long enough to reach your mouth even when using big backpacks. I recommend getting the cap to protect the valve. It gets dirty, it's kinda of annoying to buy extra stuff that should come with the bladder, but is is worth it. There is no after taste and it keeps fungi free for quite a long time. However, proper cleaning especially of the tube is recommended. I do not recommend using it in alpine hiking (cold temperature), more insulation is needed. The whole thing froze on me while climbing a glacier in Ecuador. I reached the summit without drinking any water!

Great hiking pants

Columbia Omni-Dry Silver Ridge II Convertible Pant - Men's

Columbia Omni-Dry Silver Ridge II Convertible Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 14, 2009

This is my second pair from Backcountry. My Dad stole the first pair and won't give it back to me. I think it says it all. Great for hiking and general work. The pants are very durable and dry very fast. The only downside is that they do not keep you warm and do not block wind very well, but it is expected from convertibles. If you are hiking in high altitudes and cold weather conditions then I recommend something different. All in all - great buy. Oh, I forgot to mention that I wore them for more than 4 straight months in a backpacking trip in South America.
