Sierra Designs Sirius 3 - 3-Person 3-Season Tent

February 11, 2009

The fly on this tent looks like it needs to be staked down. If the need arose to use it free-standing, would the rain fly still be functional?

Under Armour Heatgear Loose T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

February 10, 2009

I have a problem when it comes to buying shirts and here's why; I'm 6'3" and 170 lbs. That means I have a fairly slender body, my chest measurement is only about 36-37". That also means that anytime I try to buy a shirt that fits my chest and stomach, it comes up to my belly button. No body wants to see that.Recently I've been looking for a good shirt to wear hiking and backpacking. I want something that wicks sweat away and keeps me comfy. Now, I see a lot of these shirts have pretty tight fits. I'm not going for something skin tight, but I've been thinking that maybe if I get a shirt like this in large, it will fit my torso length (not show any skin) and still be fitted around my body.Any suggestions? Is this a good one to try out, or is it fitted like a normal t-shirt and maybe I should try a different style?

February 9, 2009

The Tech Specs say this is 4-season hiking. Will this boot be too warm for backpacking/hiking in the summer?

JanSport Carson Backpack - 4900cu in

February 9, 2009

I'm brand new to backpacking, but have done a bit of camping and day-hiking. I want to start taking weekend backpacking trips and, sometime this year, take a 5 day trip. I'm not considering going light or ultralight, and will need a pack that I can use comfortably on my weekend trips, but will also be suitable for the 5 day trip I want to take. Would I be better off getting an external frame, such as this one, or going with a smaller internal frame, around 3500-3700cu in?

The North Face Terra 60 Backpack - 3700-3850cu in

February 9, 2009

I'm fairly tall, 6'3", and very slender, 170lbs with a 32" waist. I like this pack, but I don't know if I should get the Medium or Large. The large fits my torso measurement the best, but according to the sizing chart is way too big for my waist. Would I be better off with the M or L?
