  • Stomping Grounds:

    Mt. Hood area
  • Bio:

    Hey Everyone!
I am young woman with a love for the outdoors! If I'm not hiking, rafting or soaking up the few rays of sun we have here in the Northwest, then I am probably flying down Mt. Hood on my board! My favorite places are the Mt. Bachelor area and Keystone/Breckenridge, Colorado, because of the outdoor recreational appeal. Well, it's winter time now, and I'm sure you can find me anywhere the snow is! :-)
    Later for now!

Burton Clash Snowboard

February 24, 2009

Depends on how you ride and what conditions you like to ride in. I would probably suggest a 145 or somewhere in that area. That is a decent happy medium if I were to go solely off your size and height. If you like riding mostly powder, possibly add a cm or two for more gliding surface area or possible growing room if you're younger. Good luck!

Burton Clash Snowboard

February 24, 2009

The size of your board is really based off personal preference, specifically in certain terrain and weather conditions. Generally speaking, a longer board can perform better in powder, as they have greater surface area, however, the speed, precision and overall maneuverability are not a great as as shorter board. I would think about where and how you like to ride, and if it's in the park and haulin' down the slope, maybe go for a 157. If you find yourself enjoying the powder days, then look into a slightly longer board at 160. But I would talk to a couple of specialists when you're fitting your self to your board. I have always gone into a pro shop and explained what I wanted, told them to pick the top three boards that met my needs and I would either demo them or pick the one I liked the best. Good luck and I hope this helped!

Challenging board!

Nitro T1 Snowboard

Nitro T1 Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 February 24, 2009

The Nitro T1 is by far my favorite board of all time! I have ridden Burton, K2, Roxy, and Ride and the T1 outrides all of them. This board is very sharp with tons of pop! It makes catching mad air and flying down the mountain a whole new experience. I have ridden for seven years and have never been challenged so much by a board. Ride hard, fly high, and slice those turns. Highly recommend the T1!

Good overall board

Burton GTwin Snowboard - Women's

Burton GTwin Snowboard - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 12, 2009

This is my second board this season, and overall it's a good board. If you want the ability to carve with speed and get some mad air over the park jumps. You want to land this board. They are right about the ICS system, it's great! It's customized for Burton bindings but you can place regular bindings on there too. My only qualm with this board is I like an insanely fast board, and although this board performs, my Nitro T1 is significantly faster and provides a more challenging ride. Depends on what you like, but I hope this helps!

Love them!

Burton Escapade EST Snowboard Binding - Women's

Burton Escapade EST Snowboard Binding - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 12, 2009

This is my first year riding with non-Flow bindings, and these EST's are my second pair. I think they are far more secure, and have instant response from your board. The Ultrastrap Air takes a little breaking in, probably one day of moderate riding, but after seven years of being religiously loyal to Flow, I am officially a convert never to return. I really recommend these bindings, and I think they're worth every penny!

It does have wrist gaiters. As for the helmet, I'm not certain as I don't wear one.

Great starter boot

DC Scout Snowboard Boot - Women's

DC Scout Snowboard Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 11, 2009

I started with these boots, and DC has thrown out a warm, comfortable boa boot that is priced for starters. The boa system makes for quick and easy adjusting. I have really wide feet as well and the Scouts fit true to size! Especially if you're on a tight penny, I highly recommend these DC's!

Awesome Board

Nitro T1 Snowboard - Women's

Nitro T1 Snowboard - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 5, 2009

I love this board! If you are looking for a board to challenge your skills and take you to the next level this is a great board to look into. It's a good starter for easing into the park, but it's also extremely fast and exact for carving down the mountain. My friends call the T1 my speedster board. I hope this helps anyone who is looking for input. Nitro has my vote any day!

DAKINE Split Convertible Rolling Gear Bag - 6425cu in.

January 4, 2009

All of my DAKINE bags and luggage pieces are made in China. I would assume they all originate from the same source. However, I do know the company is based out of Hood River, OR and if you have any questions here's their contact number (541)-386-3166. They are an excellent company, who is loyal to serving their life long customers with excellence. I know they will be able to answer anything you bring their way. Good luck!

DAKINE Park Pack - 1700cu in

Rating for this product: 5 January 4, 2009

I got this pack for my trip to Australia and Asia, and it's perfect. I'm an architecture student and I need a pack that holds my camera, drawing pad, paints, pencils etc. And this pack is perfect! The top padded pocket is ideal for my camera and lenses! I still have room in it after all of my stenciling and photography necessities. I love the bag!

DAKINE EQ Bag - Large - 4500cu in

December 28, 2008

Absolutely! These bags fold completely flat, or you can fold multiple times. You wouldn't think so by looking at it when it's packed full of stuff though! I place all three bags flat under my dresser for storage and I only have a 3" clearing to get them under there. Good luck on your search.

DAKINE EQ Large Duffel Bag - 4500cu in. - Women's

DAKINE EQ Large Duffel Bag - 4500cu in. - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 18, 2008

They weren't really kidding when they say you can fit people in this duffel! I was shocked at how large this bag was when I got it. I have this one and the smaller duffel and love them both. I could pack a week or more worth of clothing for any winter excursion in this bag. I couldn't ask for a better look either! Autumn Plaid rocks!

Sweet Boots

ThirtyTwo Focus Boa Snowboard Boot - Women's

ThirtyTwo Focus Boa Snowboard Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 15, 2008

These boots are warm, comfortable, and the easiest to adjust. I love the dual boa system. The new sole makes the boots the lightest pair I have (and I have Moto's and Graphix additionally). They ride well, and there's no time wasted to try and readjust (if needed) while you're riding. Stop lacing! Start riding! I highly recommend anyone try these 32's.

Ride with Slipper comfort!

DC Judge Snowboard Boot - Women's

DC Judge Snowboard Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 15, 2008

These boots rock! I think the above post may have received a defective pair. My air pump is fantastic, and allows me to custom fit the interior to my foot and the boa makes for a quick efficient adjustment to hold that comfort in. They ride great, keep your feet warm, and are awesome for hiking in places! The spikes on the bottom of the boots have been really great for traction control. I spent a week in Alaska, and one of the days we picked the wrong place to board and it was almost ALL ice. No problems here! Grab your DC's and ride with precision and speed with the comfort of your own slippers!
