Black Diamond Traverse Ski Poles

October 6, 2010

I just got back from hiking a 64 mile section of the John Muir Trail from Mammoth Lakes to Yosemite last week using these poles as trekking poles. I also use these as my back country ski poles. I don't always use them at the resort as I tend to be pretty hard on poles when resort skiing but as long as you take care of them you should be fine. These poles seem pretty strong. Here they are by Thousand Island Lake.

Works Great

Hydro Photon SteriPEN Adventurer Handheld Ultraviolet Water Purifier

Hydro Photon SteriPEN Adventurer Handheld Ultraviolet Water Purifier

Rating for this product: 4 July 14, 2010

This works great in a wide mouth Nalgene. I have a Sigg bottle and the mouth is too narrow. The pen has 2 little sensors that need to be under water for it to work and you can't get them in far enough in the narrow mouthed bottles. It works great with the proper set up.

Merrell Outland Mid GTX Boot - Men's

February 17, 2009

I am going to be climbing Mt. Whitney this summer doing a 2 day trip. Would these be stiff enough to carry a pack. Probably 40 is lbs as I am going to be the mule for my girlfriends heavier items.

Rossignol S6 Koopman Alpine Ski

Rossignol S6 Koopman Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 December 1, 2008

I just went to mammoth last week and rode these for the first time. The snow conditions weren't that great, really hard, icy groomers early softening up in the afternoon. I had a pair of Seth Pistols from 2004 that I have been riding and those are softer than these. I also rode the Volkl Katana last year on hard icy conditions and those were stiffer than the S6's. The Rossi's are inbetween those 2. They can lay over pretty good considering how wide they are. I can't wait to get into some deep snow and really open them up. They are a very versatile ski and performed great on bad snow. I will write again once I get them in some soft stuff.
