not feelin the love

The North Face Apex Glove - Men's

I bought these gloves to keep warm while running and I was totally disappointed. The cold and wind seemed to go right through them every time. Then I took them sledding one day and they were the wimpiest snowball-fighting gear this side of cotton stretch gloves. I'm not sure why my experience with the Apex Glove is so different from other reviewers' but I invested in a higher-quality mitten of a different brand and have been happy ever since.

awesome vegan boots

The North Face Four Shadows GTX Winter Boot - Women's

I searched high and low to find a quality snow boot with no leather, suede, sheep, or other animal parts. These boots are comfortable and kept my feet nice and toasty, even with crummy socks. I haven't tested them in extreme cold but in 15+ degree weather they are great. Sizing note: I would recommend ordering a half size up. Love them!

Isis Peony Crew Neck - Long-Sleeve - Women's

I bought this shirt in the Garnet color (which is like a maroon, darker than pictured) because I really like Isis and have had good luck with their products in the past. This shirt is really cute and slinky, and it is a nice change from some of the bland and/or shapeless layers out there. However, I did not like this shirt as a performance garment. The material is stretchy and has a cool pattern, and it reminds me of a shirt I used to wear to the clubs, but it takes forever for it to dry and does not perform as well as other base layers. I hate to say anything bad about an Isis product, but I'm sticking with my Capilene.
