Salomon Shogun Ski

August 13, 2010

I am looking for a wider ski this year. Skiing mostly Summit Co, CO. Currently ski last year's Atomic Snoops. I like them a ton, but looking for more powder float. I just don't want to lose much of the all-mountain versatility I have with the snoops. I live for the powder and glades, but really like to ski the bumps at least a few runs a day. I also like groomers, but from what I've read these will handle the groomed just fine.

Two questions:

First, what size should I get? I'm 5'9" 165 lbs, and an advanced skier. The 176 Snoops are perfect length for me as they are pretty stable at speeds and easy to turn in bumps and trees. Will the 182 be pretty comparable in length because of the rocker? How will they fair in the bumps?

Second, any other recommendations for an everyday ski? I've been looking at the Gotama, Mantra, K2 Obsethed, and Line Prophet 100. Any advice would be great.

Volkl Gotama Ski

July 31, 2010

I want this ski! I've heard so much about this ski, now I'm just debating over which size to get. I will be using the ski as an everyday ski. I'll be skiing everything on this ski including glades, bumps, powder, and groomers. I ride the Atomic Snoop right now at 176. Because of the reverse camber, should I go up to 186, or should the 178s be long enough? 5'9" and 165lbs. Any help would be great.

Any idea on bindings for this ski that are not too expensive? How would the PX 12 Lifter Wide Ski Binding be? Any other suggestions?

Rossignol Phantom SC87 Ski

January 4, 2010

I'm looking for an all mountain ski that can float well in the powder, turn in tight trees and bumps, and also feel stable at speed. I am looking at this ski, the line prophet 90, and the Atomic Snoop Daddy. Any suggestions on which ski would be best, or any other possible fits? I'm an advanced skier, and 5'9", 175 pounds.

Arc'teryx Sidewinder AR Jacket - Men's

January 27, 2009

I am 5'9" and weigh 170 lbs. I am thinking large, but the sizing charts suggest a medium. What size would fit me best? I am a large in most other things.

Nordica Enforcer Ski Boot - Men's

October 28, 2008

Does this nordica run pretty true to size? I tried on the salomon impact boots and am a 28 in those. Would a 28 be the best bet for me? I guess I am not sure if these run in half sizes or not. Also, will the boot be able to house my medium width foot?

Salomon Impact 10 Ski Boot - Men's

October 24, 2008

Hi, I consider myself an advanced skiier as I ski almost any terrain (haven't done much backcountry) but I only ski about 10 days a year and am most definitely not an expert. Will the 110 flex in this boot be too much for me? I have never had a good pair of boots, and in the past I have ridden pretty soft ones.
