Therm-a-Rest Stuff Sack Pillow
August 25, 2008
What if you are an ultralight backpacker like this item was intended for, and you are busy drying out your other set of clothes and have nothing to stuff in the sack overnight? No answer is necessary, I guess this was not a question. Never mind.

Black Diamond NRG Rechargeable Battery Kit DO NOT USE
August 1, 2008
Funny how I am answering my own question. However, I am not surprised, anyway, on with the show! This is an e-mail answer to my question written so graciously by one of Black Diamond's Finest:Hi Geoff, Thanks for the email. Well I hate to admit it, but pulling it is all thatcan be done. I have been doing this for some time now with the ICON (wellover a year) and have not had any problems. My suggestion is to turn thebattery housing upside down and take the batteries out but don't let thewires support the weight of the batteries.(keep some slack in it) Grab thewires as close to the white plug as you can and don't jerk it out but use asteady pulling pressure. I have also had success using needle nosed pliersbut those aren't always around. Wish I had a better answer for you.Best Regards, Jeffrey

Hydro Photon SteriPEN Solar Charging Case
July 30, 2008
I use the SteriPEN. Have used other brands in the past but find the SteriPEN to be the easiest and quickest way to purify water on the go.I like to use the First Need Water Purifier and then follow it up with a SteriPEN. Seems to work 100%. And tastes great.

Mountain Hardwear Spire 2 Tent 2-Person 4-Season
July 29, 2008
Has anybody used this tent yet? Is it worth going two wall design? Looks cumbersome for the winter, and setup time would stink.

Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad
July 26, 2008
You can simply open the valve for self inflation, or you can blow it full with your own lungs. I recommend self inflation, it keeps the condensation out.You fill it with as much as air as you would like in terms of comfort. I like to let it expand on its own, and then give it a couple of full breaths to pump it up all the way. It really inflates almost by itself. The real trick and part that people need to learn is the deflation technique. Simply fold it over a few times so you can sit on it and then go ahead and press all the air out of it. After you are sitting on it with all the air out of the pad simply lock the twist cap and it will be perma-deflated. Fold it once like a hot dog bun and roll. As you are rolling at the very end I like to undo the twist cap again for a second to get the remaining air out, and then re-tighten when fully done.

Black Diamond NRG Rechargeable Battery Kit DO NOT USE
July 2, 2008
How do you remove the battery plug from the Apollo Lantern? It doesn't budge, appears stuck, with no visible release, and I do not want to pull it till it breaks. So what gives BD?
