Regular. Their recommendation for a regular torso length might seem a bit short, but it is most likely spot on. If you want to get a real accurate fit, have a friend measure from your c7 vertebrae (the lowest prominent bump in your neck) to the small of your back, and use that number to choose the size. While it might be tempting to get a large for the increased volume, the looser fit won't be worth it. Also, the torso length isn't the only thing they stretch for a larger pack, the waistbelt is also longer, and having that misfit could be detrimental

The Ahwahnee would definitely be suitable, but only if you got a vestibule. The tent is 7.5' long and 4.4' wide. That seems roomy, but mark it out on your floor and play camp, get a feel for how much room that actually is. The vestibule adds 13 square feet, and you can get two of them if you feel inclined.
If you are worried about the wind, the ahwahnee can take it. However, due to it's steeper walls, it can get shaky in there. I would recommend looking at the Fitzroy as well, as it is unaffected by the wind. Seriously, it doesn't move.
Lastly, get an attic. They are cheap, light, and add a lot of livability to the tent.

Oh, this can take whatever nature throws at it. EPIC fabric is deemed "highly water resistant" because water *can* get through the fabric when it is subject to extreme pressures. What this means to you is that a windblown downpour won't even phase the fabric, but a high-pressure fire hose has a slim chance of forcing some water through.

While the hubba hubba does do decently in the wind, the skyledge 2.1 is by far the sturdiest tent out of your selection. The cross poles at the top are joined by a power clip, something that makes the tent significantly sturdier than others. Notice on how the hubba hubba and the copper spur that there is only one pole in the middle that supports it from the ground. this leads to a softer tent top, which can be a concern in the wind. The marmot tent has steeper walls than the skyledge, which catch more wind. Also, the skyledge is pretty darn roomy, it's not called a 2.1 for nothing.

The key here is whichever pack fits you better. In my experience, arc'teryx packs are the best fit, IF they fit. They tend to only fit a small range of people, but the people they fit love them. Gregorys are a little more flexible, fitting a wider range of people.
One feature that really sets this pack apart from the Baltoro is the aluminum stays in the backpanel. These stays increase comfortable load capacity by transferring more weight to the hip belt. Also, by bending the stays to fit the profile of your back you can get an even more comfortable fit. Also, the durability of the Bora is legendary.
Some features that the Baltoro boasts that the Bora lacks are the Response suspension system and better organization. The response system is basically a suspension that moves with you. the hip belt is attached to the pack with a rotating disc that increases mobility, which is nice when you are navigating tricky terrain. The organization is more of a personal choice.
Overall, I think the Bora is a better choice, but you need to go into a gear shop and get them fit to you. Just because you are a small person doesn't mean you need a small pack.

The Supermodel X is your ticket to greatness. It has a tapered profile-wider nose than tail-so you will get great flotation in the powder, and make landings in the pow much easier. Also, this board is equipped with a deeper side cut than the custom, making gnarly turns on groomers a piece of cake. Go to burton's website and compare board specs if you want more details.

They way i have molded my boots in the past, which really has worked astoundingly, is to put your liners in your boots, and blast them with a hairdryer for 10-15 minutes, you really cant over-do it with a blow dryer, and the liners dont need that much heat at all. Take an old pair of socks and cut the toe pieces out , and slide the caps over your toes. slide your fattiest pair of socks on over these, and strap your feet in tight! Keep them on as long as you can, and they should fit awesomely. If they dont fit at first, give them a few days riding to break in and pack down some. If they still dont fit, give it another go.

While the minimalist attitude of this board seems kind of sketchy, it actually makes it even more bombproof. Think of it this way, if you have a car made of steel and a car made of titanium, the car made of titanium will be lighter, stronger, and more exensive. Its the same with the board, they used better parts so they could use less of them. The k2 boards i have ridden (and still ride) have proven to be rugged and dependable, and they were definately not their top line boards.

If you are planning to ride pretty much exclusively park, this is a great board for a beginner. It's medium flex will be plenty responsive without being too sensitive, making it easy to control. However, without having snowboarded much at all yet, you might find that other areas of the resort draw your attention more than the park. Thankfully, this board is really affordable so ditching it in a few years if you change your style wont be a big deal.

I am a guy with pretty large calves, and i have a horrible time finding boots that will accomodate them. What i have found works best is to sacrafice some stiffness for some comfort, its better to have a little less control but still feel your feet. Also, i always lace my ankle really tight, but the tops looser, that will help some. As far as i know, there are no boots specifically that will accomodate larger calves without getting a larger boot size.

Socks are purely for comfort and warmth. If you have had not problems with blisters or cold feet with your previous boots, dont wear them. If you are worried about getting blisters with these, just order half a size up and wear some thin hiking socks.

Ive gone through burton and k2 boots, and i think that they were both comfy and warm. I get my k2 boots half a size up, but thats mainly because of bulky socks.

There are inserts in the shell that are waterproof, not the liner. As far as im concerned, i dont think these gloves are anything special. They do keep your hands warm, but they wont go though as much punishment as the Marmots.

What boards people ride is not based solely on weight vs. board length, The technology of the board is what makes the difference. Men ride stiffer board becaue they are typically stronger, while women's boards are more flexible becuase thet ride with more finesse. This applies to a youth board too, youth are not as strong so their boards flex alot. An agressive rider on a flexible board loses control.

No, not at all. If you ride really hard, you will develop pressure cracks, lose edge, and get core shots.

I have pretty big calves so i get this problem all the time. My solution is to wear ankle socks that stay on pretty well, and wear 3/4 length long underwear. I leaves some skin uncovered in your boot, but in my experience my ankle and lower calves dont get cold.

I am about your size and i ride a burton triumph 169, its a really similar board, and it rocked the powder. What you need to ask yourself is what type of pow you are going to ride. If yoyu are going to hit the steep and deep, go with the 172. You will appreciate the extra float, along with some better rooster tails coming up behind you. However, if you are going to be rocking the tree scene, take the 167. If you get stuck, which happens alot in the trees, it will be easier to get going again. Also, lower swing weight will make for tighter, quicker turns to get around that unexpected stump.

I am about your size, a little shorter and a litter heavier, but i go with the medium. I do like my clothes a bit snug though, so your best option is to look at the sizing chart.

it will work, but it wont preform that well. this is a very park specific board, it even has dulled edges for rails. It also has alot of flex, so you wont be able to dig your edge in so well on turns. Basically, this board will get you to the park but you wouldnt want to rally some double blacks on it.

Probably not. The Forum warranty doesnt cover anything that is a result from "Misuse, abuse, impact or neglect", so pretty much anything that is not their fault. If you bought it off backcountry though, you can always return it.

It depends. It has a 34% VLT, so it can be used at night if the moon is bright and there isnt too much to look out for. The best thing to do for night riding is just get a pair of clear lenses, they are $20 on smith's website.

I would assume it is, becuase Ortovox doesn't make weak gear, and unless they want it to corrode they will anodize it. Aluminum's resistance to corrosion is greatly diminished when it is combined into an alloy, and 6000 Aluminum is an alloy. Also, its bluish color points to a dye, which requires anodizing. As far as type of anodizing goes, my best guess is it is type III, it is the most widely used and durable.

They should be compatible, your helmet has a really straight brim and nothing that would constrict it. It won't be a tight fit, but you wont be readjusting everything mid run.

The podium is a pretty solid board for all around riding, but it isnt the best park board if thats your style. There are some cheaper boards out there, but you definately get what you pay for. The Format is another good board by K2, but its not quite as big.
