Inno Racks Upright Bike Lock

March 15, 2009

Wait on that one... That's not true. The rack does not come with all you see above. The cross bars are not included, and they show those (the bars running parallel) in the photo. What you get is the bike tray itself that connects to the cross bars.---------------------------That is correct, sorry if I steered you wrong Richard. Thanks for the help Schott-------------------------------This is TheBugMan. Mine only came with bike tray/mount and not the cross bars. Also, mine was silver, not dark as the picture shows.

Inno Racks Upright Bike Lock

March 15, 2009

Hello Backcountry people (^_^).I ordered this rack about a month ago and noticed there is some white buildup on the bolt threads of this mount. Should I put some grease on them to stop corrosion? Also, for people that are thinking about this rack, it is silver, not dark as the picture shows. Plus it doesn't come this the cross bars (at least mine did not).Other wise good mount. EDIT: Thanks Randy. I asked around and e-mailed several roof rack manufactures, most people say put "White Lithium Grease"(spray kind) on the exposed threads and inside the key lock area.

I've been using this with my 2004 Mazda Protege 5 wagons oval shaped factory cross bars and it mounts tight. I love the anti spin design.
Will update this if things go wrong.
Buggy out.

3 months and my armpit zipper welds delaminate (>_<)'

Mountain Hardwear Dragon Softshell Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Dragon Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 February 2, 2009

I have been very careful about these zippers (maybe opening and closing the armpits 5 times total) because I suspected they would go first if any of the welds.
I really don't want to return this jacket 4 a new one. What is the best way the re-weld them?

Besides that, I love the jacket.

A good start so far...

66 North Iceland Stormur Jacket - Men's

66 North Iceland Stormur Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 16, 2009

It was time for me to replace my hand-me-down/worn out/too tight fleece jacket I've been wearing for the last 5 yrs so I decided to go all out on myself.
First thing I noticed about this jacket was the loose threads coming off the seams. Although none of the loose threads seem to affect the structural integrity, I would have felt better if this expensive purchase had more attention to detail. It says on the tag, "Made in Latvia". Other than the loose stuff, they did a great job.
Second thing I noticed was the density of this jacket. This is the heaviest fleece I've owned (although I felt heavier ones) but also has a handmade quality feel to it.
Third thing is the nice comfy/soft fleece lining the inside. One of the reasons I picked this one (from photos). I was not disappointed in this aspect.
I didn't like the fact that the sleeves are short. The medium I ordered has a nice long torso (so do I) but the sleeves need to be 1-2 inches longer, minimum.
I wish the chest pocket was larger (It looked bigger to me in the pics) or that there was a large inner chest pocket opposite the small outer pocket.
I hope this jacket last for at least 8yrs cause it was expensive. If the Stormur falls apart I'll update this.

Fell apart on me quickly (>_<)'

Montrail Hurricane Ridge XCR Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Montrail Hurricane Ridge XCR Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 January 14, 2009

At first I thought this was going to be a great time together... running through the forest, splashing around Seattle puddles... And that is what happened for the first 2 months... Then the shoes outer soul started to come off letting water get in, right where the foot bends.
Other than that, they worked great. But I haven't owned shoes this expensive before that just came apart like this.

My favorite shirts (^_^)!

The North Face VaporWick Ruckus T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

The North Face VaporWick Ruckus T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 14, 2009

I have about nine of these shirts. I'm 5'10", 170lbs and medium fit my LONG torso perfectly. I love the way they keep me dry (I'm always the first person to sweat and the last person to dry) when doing uber aerobic sports. I like the fact that they will not get damaged like pantie holes when snagged of a branch like other synthetic, fast drying shirts. I stay away from the really thin VaporWick tees though, they tear/damage easy.

The North Face VaporWick Ruckus T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 14, 2009

I will agree that TNFace stuff is getting more and more fashionable, but less functional. In the last 5 yrs this is the only TNF product I've purchased. I own those other t-shirts you list as better but they are not in my mind. Yes, those other shirts are lighter, but are FRAGILE compared to Ruckus. I can walk through thorn bushes with the Ruckus. If I did the same with those light weight t-shirts, I come out with tears and stretched threads.

Very comfy shoe...

The North Face Purgatory Multisport Shoe - Men's

The North Face Purgatory Multisport Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 9, 2009

I have wide feet and this shoes has plenty of room at the widest part and toe box area.
It's holding up pretty dry inside the shoe here in Seattle's wet weather (although there are better water resistant shoes) but I can't see myself wearing this in the summer unless I want soggy socks (my feet sweat more that most people. There are no vents or mesh).
I love the traction this shoe has while playing field sports, tread is holding up well so far.
I tend to tear my shoes up very quickly and will update this if they apart faster than normal.
Buggy out!

7 day and counting (^_^)!!

Mountain Hardwear Dragon Softshell Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Dragon Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 October 17, 2008

I woke up on the 3rd day after buying this jacket expecting to see the welds delaminate... they are still intact.
I love this jacket so far. I ride my bike through wind and rain here in Seattle and it's doing a great job, no leaks. Just wish there was a large inner chest pocket opposite the outer chest pocket. When I wear a short sleeve shirt underneath I can feel the arm pit zipper, which kinda sucks.
If this jacket starts falling apart, I will update this review.
