Icebreaker Superfine150 Tech T Lite Beech Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Icebreaker Superfine150 Tech T Lite Beech Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 19, 2010

Icebreaker Marino is hands down the most comfortable fabric I have ever used, and I have tried a lot of technical fabrics! More comfortable than cotton and better performance than synthetic fabrics. When it’s hot, I feel like I have air-conditioning on. It dries faster than anything I have ever seen. When worn under a wind resistant / proof outer layer in the cold it feels like they are heated. The same combo in the summer makes wearing rain gear not feel so gross and sticky. Best of all, it will keep you warm even if they are wet and wont stink even after days of use.

Eagle Creek Passage Wallet

Very bulky compared to similar products. Feels cheap, rigid, and uncorfortable to carry. Does not fit in a large pocket such as the back pocket of jeans.

The Perfect Pot for me

Backcountry.com Titanium Pot w/ Lid - 700ml

Backcountry.com Titanium Pot w/ Lid - 700ml

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2008

I love this pot, GO Backcountry.com!. Keep expanding your well priced self branded merchandise. If you like to travel light and keep to rehydrating meals this is perfect for two and more than enough for one. A small fuel canister, stove, scrubber, soap, floding spork, and condiments all store nicely in the pot. The stuff sack does in fact work great as a cozy to keep your meal hot. You can rehydrate your meals right in the pot with the cozy on! The lid could fit tighter but not a problem for me.

Here are the missing Specs. Also if you are interesed in a caldera cone or ti-tri they do make them for this pot.

Weight: 110gr
Max Capacity: 750ml

MontBell U.L. Super Stretch Hugger #2 Sleeping Bag: 25 Degree Down

MontBell U.L. Super Stretch Hugger #2 Sleeping Bag: 25 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2008

I purchased this bag for my wife for our trip to New Zealand. She is a very cold sleeper, it got into the low 30's at night, for once i heard no complaining from her. This bag is super warm, super roomy, and super light! I have not seen a bag with a better warmth to weight ratio!

My new favorite peice of gear

MontBell Ultralight Thermawrap Vest - Men's

MontBell Ultralight Thermawrap Vest - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2008

I was hesitant about weather or not this would keep me warm but i was pleasantly surprised! Kept me warm without overheating while hiking the routeburn track in New Zealand. This track brought us through temps from 75 deg to 34 deg. I just wore an icebreaker 200 long sleave top + icebreaker ultralight T-shirt under it and an ultralight sierra design isotope shell over. It is Ultra light and packs down so small it's stupid not to take it everywhere. Because i use a down sleeping bag i like to have a synthetic fail safe insulating layer. Montbell rocks!

Great lamp!

Petzl e+LITE Emergency Headlamp

Petzl e+LITE Emergency Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2008

I agree with the last reiew, this is my primary light. Plenty bright for night hiking short distances, great versatility. Brightness, color, and strobe control in an ultralight package. My only complaint would be the control lever can be a bit tricky when it's on your head, but i still love it. My favorite feature is the veritile mounting options and range of movement. One strange thing; on the petzl website it says that there is an integrated whistle, but mine does not have it.

Platypus Hoser Hydration Bladder

Platypus Hoser Hydration Bladder

Rating for this product: 1 December 29, 2008

I have many platys, still uning one that is 10 years old, and have never had a problem. This one sprung leaks the first time i filled it. The seal arround the edges did not bond correctly during maufaturing. The material is differnt then the others, softer and more flexible which would be nice if it didn't leak. I am going to go through platypus directly for an exchange so i can let them know how disapointed i am in their quality controll. I will post how well they respond.

Great bag but tight

MontBell U.L. Alpine Down Hugger #3 Sleeping Bag: 30 Degree Down

MontBell U.L. Alpine Down Hugger #3 Sleeping Bag: 30 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2008

I bought this bag to shave OZ off my pack weight. I am a warm sleeper and used this bag in the low 30's and slept warm and toasty in just my b-day suit. Packs incredibly small and light. The stuff sack it comes with has integrated compression. The stuff sack is a bit tight at first but once you get the hang of it you will love it. The bag it self is much narrower than the other super stretch bags which surprised me, but this is what makes is so warm, light, and tiny pack size! If you get claustrophobic in a mummy this is NOT the bag for you. I think i could use this bag in much colder temps if i wore some cloths in it.

The North Face Paramount Porter Convertible Pant - Women's

The North Face Paramount Porter Convertible Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2008

She is 5'10" 140lbs and has trouble finding pants that are long enough. The long fit her perfect. She loved the straps to turn them into capris. I personally find that the north face material is a bit heavier than it needs to be.

Sierra Designs Isotope Jacket - Men's

Sierra Designs Isotope Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2008

It's a shame this jacket is discontinued. If you can find one in your size grab it! Used this jacket in New Zealand in lots of rain and temps from 74 - 34 deg and it kept me dry and comfortable. So light it's amazing! I am a bit concerned about how durable the material is but after 3 weeks of daily use and 7 days on the trail it has held up very well.

At first this was a hard sell, but after being complimented a number of times on how nice her jacket was she has realized how great the product is. It's a shame this jacket is discontinued. Impressive

GoLite Reed Pant - Men's

GoLite Reed Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 29, 2008

They fit reasonably well for rain pants and the material does not feel like a garbage bag, for the weight this is surprising. The material is qute silky. I really put them to the test kyacking in the rain (no water skirt on the kyack). Despite sitting in a puddle for an hour i was dry as a bone. My only complaint is that the ankle zipper does not stay all the way down. It could use a snap, but that would add weight!
