Liberty Helix Alpine Ski

March 8, 2009

First off, I have been skiing on a pair of Helix 187's all season long and OMG they are the best ski ever made [or at least that I have been on]. For anyone reading this thread for info, they are stable, powerful, floaty [pow], grippy [hardpack], light, playfull, etc....I am thinking of buying another pair for a telemark setup. Does anyone have an opinion on if it will be the best TELE ski ever as well?

Marker Duke Ski Binding

March 2, 2009

Nope, the Baron and Duke aren't tele bindings, and you can't use NTN boots (or any kind of tele boots) in them.---------------The only AT bindings the NTN boots will fit in are Dynafits.(You can jam 'em in but I guarantee a pre release when the sole bends - I know I have tried)----------------Both the Crispi EVO and Shiver reportedly work with the Duke/Barons.

Black Diamond Verdict Ski

February 23, 2009

If you are looking for a lightweight touring binding you can go with the dynafit vertical or dynafit comfort. If you are looking for an all around lightweight setup to ski both at the resort, resort backcountry and tour with go with the fritschi freeride plus. If you are looking for a bomber downhill ride, and would like to tour with as well go with the marker duke. *Tweak* Or go for the Marker Baron for a bomber downhill ride (like the Duke) but less weight, or if you really need a 16-DIN stay with the Duke :)Don't forget about Naxos...I charge BC and groomers with mine.

Crispi EVO NTN Telemark Boot

February 20, 2009

Can anyone give a relative flex rating for these boots (or compare them to a boot with a known flex rating) so I can evaluate how well they will drive? I am currently using a 90 flex [alpine] boot now for all conditions and am hoping this boot will be similar with the heels locked down in an AT binding.

Marker Duke Ski Binding

February 13, 2009

It all depends what you normally have your alpine DIN set to. If it's set under 10, I would go with the Baron. If your DIN is usually set at 10 or higher, then I would buy the Duke.I agree with this answer. I am 185 and aggressive and the Baron's have been awesome this season for me.

Marker Baron Ski Bindings

February 13, 2009

I am 185 and ski very aggressively and the Barons I have (on my 187 Liberty Helix) are rock solid. I don't need the DIN of the Dukes and appreciate the lighter weight and cost of the Barons.

Scarpa Terminator X Telemark Ski Boot

February 13, 2009

I have a question about AT compatibility. Does anyone know if these will work with Marker Duke/Baron bindings as well as the NTN bindings? If not, is there an NTN boot that will work with the Marker AT setup?
