I have owned Columbia jackets for years, and this one replaces another. Anything in the Columbia Titanium line is quality. I bought this one primarily for skiing as its just a technical shell, and I get pretty hot skiing. It is thin - you can almost see through parts of it from the inside, and because of this it is not very warm. But the jacket is made for layering. With a windproof fleece on underneath, this jacket has been awesome during some snowstorms in the upper peninsula so far. It doesn't get 5 stars because of the zipper - because it is a sealed waterproof one it frequently does not zip. You need to work at it for a while to align it correctly before it will move. Overall, a great buy for skiing as long as you layer properly underneath.

If you don't wear SmartWool baselayers during the winter, you're choosing to sacrifice either comfort or warmth. Forget about scratchy wool next to the skin, this wool is as soft as nylon. I own two pairs, and they both get used consistently in the UP and northern Minnesota. Sure they cost a little more than the competition, but can you put a price on comfort and performance in the field?

These replaced an older pair of Danner boots I had, and after two excellent boots, I'm sold on any Danner product. The boot fits a little large - I usually wear a 12, but 11.5 fits right. The traction with these is second to none on terrain from wet rocks, steep muddy trails, and snow and ice. They only score 4 stars because they are not 100% waterproof. Normally I add mink oil to my boots to further enhance the waterproof characteristics of them, but with these I did not do that. I'll admit they're waterproof everywhere except for the tongue in between the laces. Regardless, these boots have gone from my weekend footwear to daily footwear during the fall.

I bought this pack for day trips into the woods and for mountain biking. After having it for over a year I couldn't be happier with it. With the chest strap buckled, the pack doesn't go anywhere you don't want it to, even when running down hiking trails. As for the strength, I have loaded it with over 20 pounds of textbooks without a problem. Also, it's not labeled as water resistant, but it definitely is. I got the orange and the color looks even better in person. Another great purchase from an awesome site!

I wore my buddy's similar North Face jacket before buying this and found it comfortable, warm, and windproof. But after receiving mine and comparing the two, this Patagonia is by far superior. It's lighter, warmer, and a big reason in why I bought mine is that you don't see a dozen of them in a day like the North Face. Forget what reviews say about the jackets running large - I downsized to a medium and the jacket was too small. I'm 6'1" 170 and needed to send it back for a large that now fits awesome. Strongly recommended and buy with confidence from this site!

I was looking for a lighter weight all-around fleece and this one definitely fits the bill. The shirt blocks the wind much better than my other fleece shirts which is great. It's very comfortable because there are no seams on your shoulders. I'm about 6 ft 1, 165 and ordered a large. The fit is perfect for my somewhat tall and thin build and longer arms. The logo looks great on the front as well. Very happy with my purchase and the site in general!
