The North Face El Lobo 65 Backpack - 3480cu in

October 11, 2009

Im not sure what "fit range" means but I will say that there is a torso adjustment on this pack. Check out the sizing chart (tells you how to measure) and find the size that fits your measurements. Then you can fine tune it with that torso adjustment. I have a 19" torso and went with a large and had to adjust it down just a little. Hope that helps...

Great tent

The North Face Tadpole 23 Bx Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 October 10, 2009

Bought it in the spring and used it throught the summer and I love it. Easy to set up, easy to pack, lightweight but durable material, and plenty of pockets and gear loops to stash or hang stuff. There's a reason it's always out of stock.

Orage Magma Jacket - Men's

October 7, 2009

Lightly insulated, the back of the jacket on the inside has a nice layer of fleece that should help with the cold. But if you're in real nasty weather I'm sure a base layer would be a good call.

Well built

Orage Magma Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 7, 2009

Haven't had a chance to try it in the wild yet but I'm very impressed by this jackets construction. It's simple but has very nice, functional features. I like how the zipper tabs are long enough to grab with gloves on, the hood is removable, and a central fleece panel on the inside feels like it'll keep you warm. Lightly insulated and not bulky, follow the sizing chart and you'll get a great fitting jacket. I'll report back when I hit the pow.

Great Pack

The North Face El Lobo 65 Backpack - 3480cu in

The North Face El Lobo 65 Backpack - 3480cu in

Rating for this product: 5 June 9, 2009

This pack has very good support and distributes weight well. When it's fully loaded it doesn't feel nearly as heavy as it really is. It has great features, I'd list them but they're all up on the tech specs. It does have a mesh pocket on the right side waist strap that's pretty cool (perfect for a camera). Very comfortable on long hikes, the X frame is awesome. I think this is a great pack for a good price.

Nice Pad

Big Agnes Air Core Sleeping Pad

Big Agnes Air Core Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 5 May 2, 2009

I tried thermarest for the longest time and I just couldn't get a good nights sleep on one. Then I got this little guy and what a difference. Granted it does take a little longer to fill but it's worth it in my mind. I would always slide off of thermarests, but i stay put on the air core. Very comfy, I sleep much better on it and I never hit the ground when I turn on my side. It packs really small(the size of your average water bottle.) Great price for a great pad.

Columbia Silver Ridge II Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 2, 2009

Very comfortable fit. I took it on the last camping trip and it was the only shirt I needed. Felt good under a pack as well. And it looks good enough to just wear around town. Great Buy.

Yakima Q Towers - set of 4

March 28, 2009

Will these mount on existing roof rails?
I have a 99 Toyota 4-Runner and it has a factory roof rack and I was hoping to utilize it, rather than putting the Q-towers in the door frames(and the truck doesnt have raingutters). Ive tried the rack configurator on the yakima website but it doesn't say anything about putting these into the roof rails. If somebody outthere has the answer, please enlighten me...Thanks.

Long but a nice shirt

Backcountry.com Backcountry Logo T-Shirt - Men's

Backcountry.com Backcountry Logo T-Shirt - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 27, 2009

Whats the deal with the length? Really nice shirt, and the fit is nice. Good slim fit. But the length of the shirt is odd. Im 6'1" and wear a med. t-shirt, and this shirt was almost to my knees. Its really no big deal though, I ran it through the was and it's better, still a bit long but I like it. If you wanted to you could hem it. Regardless, a good price for a nice shirt.

Arbor Element Snowboard

Arbor Element Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 March 27, 2009

The sickest board I've ever been on period. This board does it all. Floats on the pow, flat out cooks on the groomers, holds an edge like no other, and it has plenty of pop. The board is super light which makes it super easy to initiate turns and spins. I hit a couple of kickers and landed all tweaked but the board is so manuverable I was able to pull out of the weird landings. Every day I strapped in I was impressed by something else it had to offer. The koa topsheet really gets peoples attention too. You hear " wow, is that real wood?" and you get to say "damn strait". It looks so cool, I can't tell you how many people gave me compliments. If you like to hit the whole mountain, the element is what you want.

Nice shades

Spy Griffin Sunglasses

Spy Griffin Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 5 March 25, 2009

I've had these for about 4 years now and I love them. They're really comfortable and pretty durable(they have hit the ground countless times) other than some scratches, they're holding up. Not the best for activity however, they dont hang on to my face when I sweat, but I might have an irregular shaped noggin. I just use them for casual shades and they look sweet. Good buy if your into the squared off look.

Marmot Trestles 30 Sleeping Bag: 30 Degree Synthetic

Rating for this product: 4 March 25, 2009

I really like this bag so far. Went desert camping in Feb. and woke up with a good layer of frost all over but I was warm and dry. I've never been too hot or cold in this bag. Very comfy. It is a bit bulky when packed but it fits in my pack just fine. All around, I think it's a great 3 season bag and a good price.

I like

Giro Root Goggle

Giro Root Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 March 25, 2009

I got these goggles a couple of seasons ago and haven't needed another pair. They seem to do well in any light. Great peripheral vision and super comfortable. I also ride with a Giro G10 helmet and they fit perfectly as promised by Giro. All in all I think they're a great pair of goggles and highly recommend them.

Nice helmet but....

Giro 2008 G10 Bluetooth Audio Helmet

Giro 2008 G10 Bluetooth Audio Helmet

Rating for this product: 2 March 25, 2009

If your gonna get the G10, don't get the audio version. The mute button doesn't work and I hear that people have problems with bluetooth. My main dissapointment is the speakers in the ear pads will make your ears hurt like hell after wearing the helmet for a couple of hours. So then the helmet is useless because you take it off. I would like the helmet if it weren't for that because it fits very well and the adjustability is nice. It keeps your head nice and warm and the vents are easy to open/close even with gloves on. I think it would be a great helmet without all of the audio crap.

Great Stuff

GSI Outdoor Bugaboo Cookset

GSI Outdoor Bugaboo Cookset

Rating for this product: 5 March 23, 2009

I purchased the small set for backpacking and it works great for me. Doesn't take up a lot of room and tends to all your cooking needs. Enough room inside to store the handle, pocket stove, and a canister of fuel if thats how you want to do it. Some people say it's heavy but I don't think so. Great to cook with and easy to clean up. I'm a fan.

Coleman F1 Ultralight Stove

Coleman F1 Ultralight Stove

Rating for this product: 4 March 23, 2009

This little stove does great. Boils water much faster than I expected and burns evenly when you want to fry something up. Really light and packs small. Also has a good surface area (pots and pans don't want to fall off). Good buy in my mind.

Killer Jacket!

The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket - Men's

The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 23, 2009

I love this jacket. It blocks wind extremely well, sheds water extremely well, and keeps you warm while being very lightweight. I live in Northern Az. so it gets nippy but I spent time in Colorado this winter and it kept me warm in single digit temps. Also a great everyday jacket, I honestly can't say that I've been cold in it yet. Not to mention it looks great and it fits really well. Good gift as well. I recommend you buy one.

Good shell for fair weather

Oakley Crash Pant - Men's

Oakley Crash Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 March 23, 2009

Got them off of tramdock thinkin I got a steal but i wasn't too impressed. They're pretty baggy and and there is absolutely no insulation, so a base layer is neccessary. If your in fair weather they work good but if the wind starts whippin you'll get cold. I never had a problem with moisture though, I stayed pretty dry. So unless your looking for just a shell, I wouldn't recommend these.
