Screen Malfunction

Nixon Outsider Tide Watch - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 January 30, 2012

I got the watch in neon green and it looked awesome though its not the most comfortable (somewhat impedes wrist motion). It was waterproof when I took it surfing which is not the case with all watches. I would have been stoked on the watch but after 6 months the screen became permanently mixed between telling the time and giving the tide information making it not much use.

Arc'teryx Sabre Pant - Men's

December 20, 2011

I am 5'11" 180lbs and wear a size 33/34 x 31 inch pant. Arc Teryx mediums generally seem a bit tight but the comments make it sound like these run large. Anyone right at the cusp between sizes have a recommendation made from experience.

Not worth it

Suunto Core Altimeter Watch

Suunto Core Altimeter Watch

Rating for this product: 2 April 20, 2011

I got an alu light about 9 months ago. I figured it would use less battery and be easy to read after looking at both light and dark models. I also figured the aluminum casing would make the watch virtually indestructible. Battery life seemed reasonable had to put in new batteries after about 9 months. I think sunrise sunset on a watch might be the most useful mountaineering planning item ever. The aluminum casing though is no good. I babied the watch but after about 6 months the buttons began corroding and the back began to turn black, reading the post apparently other people have had the same problem which is no good for a $500 time piece and it gets worse pretty fast.

Five Ten Anasazi Lace-Up V2 Climbing Shoe - Men's

Five Ten Anasazi Lace-Up V2 Climbing Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 November 7, 2009

The shoes edge well and the sole is thick enough to last a while but... the heel of these shoes just does not cut it. The heel is baggy and I say this as a person with generally wide feet. The way the sole wraps up in the back also creates a wierd loose spot. I have a friend who swears by Anasazi and kept claiming the heel brakes in but its been a solid 100 routes now and no dice. Bottom line, if you try a few sizes of the shoe and the heel never seems quite right its not going to get better with time.
