for medium to low light conditions the sensor mirror lens is one of the best. it actually brightens the appearance of terrain and adds contrast to the snow so i can see inconsistencies and any features that lay ahead. Any day that isn't 100% sunny i rely on these and i've been really happy with them.

The frames fit my medium sized face well. The only thing i'd make note of, if you've got a HUGE head is that the strap isn't super long on these. I've stretched them a bit and they're more comfortable now but out of the box even on the loosest setting they felt snug (i wear goggles over my helmet).

overall they're awesome. get a pair, you won't be disappointed.

Backcountry.com Stoic 2.0 Shell - Women's

Backcountry.com Stoic 2.0 Shell - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 October 25, 2009

nice shell. kind of short. if you plan on layering, size up. elastic around bottom hem doesn't pull super tight, and since there's no powder skirt i worry i'll get a bit cold if it's windy or i take a spill. on the positive side, zippers are smooth and smartly designed. construction seems bomber so far. nice shape for a women's jacket. for the price i'd say it's one of the best. sure, fancier shells are out there but not for $115. layer this with a down sweater or fleece for chilly days and you'll be happy, warm, and dry :-)

Backcountry.com Stoic 2.0 Shell - Women's

i own arcteryx in medium (5'9 140) and backcountry in a medium. however, this jacket i exchanged for a large so i can layer with a light down sweater or fleece underneath. this was mostly because i felt like it was too short so if you're not tall this might not be an issue for you.

Backcountry.com Stoic 2.0 Shell - Women's

October 22, 2009

for sure! hood isn't exactly helmet compatable so if you like to pull something over your head on the lifts (and you wear a helmet) this might not be the best, but it's solid, pretty light, and goes great with a down sweater (see backcountry luft 800) for super cold days or a lighter fleece or merino for some warmer ski weather. pit zips are a must on all ski jackets i own and i like that these aren't huge and bulky, just big enough for some ventilation without feeling like you'll fly away in a gust of wind. the sleeve cuffs are pretty nice, but there's no pow skirt and the drawstring at the hem isn't the burliest i've had- it doesn't truly bother me but again, it's something to consider. size up for sure if you want to layer. hope this helps! AMAZING!

Lange Freeride 110 Ski Boot - Women's

Lange Freeride 110 Ski Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 20, 2008

out of the box these babies might feel like an ankle breaker just to put on, but flexing the tounge and putting them on and off a couple of times helps A LOT. once the boots are on your feet and it's time to hit the hill you'll be amazed at the performance of these boots. they are roomier than you wod expect but snug where it counts. the lowest two buckles have extra leverage so they're easy to adjust. the difference i feel when i ski in these versus my old tecnica boots is insane. they are super responsive...i'm in absolute boot love!

fyi-- lange boots are awesome women's boots if you've got the typical woman's foot...narrower heel/arch, slightly wider toe box. i've had trouble finding boots for the longest time and the moment i tried lange i knew we were a perfect match.

THESE BOOTS ROCK! GET 'EM

Arc'teryx Fission AR Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Fission AR Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 25, 2008

hands down, best jacket i've ever owned. so versatile i've kicked many of my other guys to the curb in favor of this jack of all trades. simplistic, light weight and SUPER WARM. stow away hood gives your neck some extra protection when you aren't being blessed with a little frozen liquid sunshine. not a ton of pockets, but it's stream lined and well fitted. it handles anything and i love it!
