Probably too late to help you, but I do wear the Rampart pant as part of a Scout leader unifrom, it's a little dark but close enough in our troop.
I used these pants on a five day backpack in the Sierras this summer, sitting on rocks, rock scrambling and walking through brush with just a really small pin hole in the seat. I've worn them often since thne- great pants, love the pockets. They are baggy enough around the ankles that you can roll them up to cool off.
