For a GREAT nights sleep....

Western Mountaineering Cloudrest Down Pillow

Western Mountaineering Cloudrest Down Pillow

Rating for this product: 5 March 18, 2004

Grab yourself one of these pillows.
Featherweight pillow which is fantastic. Will not leave the house again for the outdoors without it. Sure it is luxury, but after a hard day climbing, your body deserves it.
My head did not hit the ground once during the night. Stuffs down to almost no size, then inflates to generous pillow when taken out of attached stuff sack.
Do yourself a favour, and get yourself one!!!

Can't fault the Zenix

Black Diamond Zenix IQ Headlamp

Black Diamond Zenix IQ Headlamp

Rating for this product: 4 March 18, 2004

Great headlamp that is lightweight, comfortable, and gives off a GOOD amount of light. (I reckon could be a bit brighter, but it is more than adequate). Love the dual mode using the central LED or the two superbrights.
Great for re-pegging tent in the middle of the night during a storm on a mountain summit!

Grab a Swallow!

Marmot Swallow Tent 2-Person 3-4-Season

Marmot Swallow Tent 2-Person 3-4-Season

Rating for this product: 4 March 18, 2004

I climbed Victoria's (Australia) highest mountain last week (Mt.Bogong), and camped overnight on the Summit. During the night, some serious winds rolled in which were battering all the tents in our group. The Marmot stood up to the test fantastically - whereas others were losing flys and almost blowing away. The design of the tent meant that it bended down towards the ground in high winds rather than try and take off!
Huge for two people (the way I like it), and although heavy for a two person tent, splitting the body and fly makes the weight acceptable.
Love it that you can zip the windows from the inside (when it also started raining), and that there are windows on the fly (to see the stars!)- although these windows could have been bigger. Ventalation was great.
Worked fantastically with the ground sheet and loft.
I felt safe inside, even though there were 80km/h winds outside!
Grab yourself a Swallow!

Great Footprint

Marmot Swallow 2-Person Tent Footprint

Marmot Swallow 2-Person Tent Footprint

Rating for this product: 5 March 18, 2004

Worked excellently with Swallow tent. Light, attaches easily, keeps bottom of tent off prickly spines that I had to camp on last week, and doesn't show any worse for wear. If you've got a Swallow, get this footprint!

Great for your stash

Marmot Swallow Gear Loft

Marmot Swallow Gear Loft

Rating for this product: 4 March 18, 2004

Works well, easy to use (after about 5 minutes of trying to work out which ties to use, but that was just me!), weighs nothing. Gave it a 4 out of 5, cause for $20 AUD it is a bit steep for a bit of cloth. If you are going to spend the money on a good tent such as a Marmot though, I spose you can afford this extra. Also makes the tent feel more like a "Home" which I like (But again that is probably just me!).
