  • Stomping Grounds:

I frolic on my mtb and in the snow.
  • Bio:

    Why I Ride

I got my first mountain bike when I was about 13, I'd grown a bit tired of riding my horses and besides a bike was

cheaper! (oh if only I knew what I know (spent) now). It was a cool dragstar with high handle bars, I wore

jimboots and tshirts with rainbows on it. Wish I still had it all now.

I was hooked on bikes early. I would just ride you know doing whatever - long rides, short rides, jumping, cruising

up and down our short road time and time again. That's where bike skills come from, hours of riding every day

after school and then all weekend.

I rode like that all through school and then gave it up when I left home. When I went came to Sydney, my first

crew that I meet were mtbikers, and they were into it. So I blew a loan on a Cannondale. Then I did a downhill

run at Thredbo, and got hooked on downhill racing.

Nothing comes close to the adrenalin of racing into the smallest bottle neck in the world, through the

bombhole, round the corner, prejumping into the next bomb-hole before being launched out of that, trying to

stay low for the tight fast right into treasure and the drop, missing the root half way down, flying along the flat bit

in the bottom and launching up and out onto the island - although I didn't do this exactly as fluid as this sounds -

    I dreamt about it alot.

So, in answer to the question, I ride because it is what I am good at and my greatest passion. If I'm stressed,

being on my bike will chill me out. If I'm happy my riding is better. I think that if you are lucky enough to discover

what you are good at you should do it where and whenever you can.

My bike will not disappoint me or let me down because I expect nothing of it - it is down to me to ride it. My bike

does not like me or pretend to be my friend because of who I am and what I do, it's just a bike. I ride because

that is me. I am a bike rider, my friends all ride bikes 'cos I ride my bike with them. I'm not going to set the world

on fire with my riding, I'm good but not great, but I have nothing to prove to anyone only myself 'cos that is who

    I ride for, me.

Special Blend Spice Puffy Jacket - Women's

Special Blend Spice Puffy Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 May 5, 2009

I bought this in funky green. The jacket runs way small. I got a M and usually I'm a S. I am tall at 174cms, so it's too short for me but hey Aspen pow up my jacket is not so bad!

It rocks in warmth and funkyness! So for that I'd give it 4 stars. Just be wary of the sizing.

I'm putting it on ebay as it's hardly been used, so lookout for it. (Oh, I'm in Australia too!).

Cheers,
sMarti.
