Great Helmet!

Smith Variant Helmet

Smith Variant Helmet

Rating for this product: 4 February 28, 2010

I bought this helmet at a slope side store but was relieved when I looked today that I paid about the same as Backcountry. This is my 2nd helmet and I am very happy with it. Lightweight and warm or cool, depending on the ventilation. I skied from 10-4 today and the temps ranged from 40 to 15 degrees throughout the day and I was comfortable the entire day. I wear them with my Heiress goggles and on really cold/windy days I notice a small gap between them and my helmet, so I'm looking for a different set of goggles. I have tossed on a thin hat or one of those head/neck warmers and felt fine.

Good Base Layer

Under Armour Base 2.0 Tights - Women's

Under Armour Base 2.0 Tights - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 December 4, 2008

I really didn't expect them to be a waffle knit material, maybe I misread the description!! Aside from that, they're a good base layer, I don't plan to wear them running, they probably wouldn't "glide" when they rub together. They definitely make a base layer for skiing though! Oh, and i wasn't crazy about the contrast stitching running up the outside of each leg (black's stitching was bright blue).

Love this jacket!

Columbia Ice Vine Parka - Women's

Columbia Ice Vine Parka - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 3, 2008

...seriously! I have long arms and this jacket fits perfectly, and its long enough in the back, so that its not exposing my skin when I bend over or take a spill! I wore it skiing on an unusually cold day a couple weekends ago, and I only needed a base layer under it! All-in-all a great jacket!

Order a size up

Under Armour Subzero Long-Sleeve Shirt - Women's

Under Armour Subzero Long-Sleeve Shirt - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 December 3, 2008

I am also 5'5" 115lbs, and I ordered a medium, but I still feel like this shirt is super tight! It took me a while to get used to the mock neck top, I felt like I was being strangled at first! I also found that it rides up when I wear it under something else that is tight fit. That being said, it does keep me really warm when I run and when I ski, but next time I will probably get a 1/4 zip shirt.

Smith Goggles

Smith Heiress Goggle - Women's

Smith Heiress Goggle - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 December 3, 2008

Being an Oakley die-hard, these are my first Smith goggles! So far, so good. I bought them after trying on a friend's pair (not this style) and I really like them. I bought the Lavender Lily Pond with the Sensor Mirror, and I have to say its a pretty good tint for almost any condition (except super bright days), and I haven't run into any issues that I usually have with tinted goggles (not being able to see the moguls clearly).
