Great fit, warm, decent sound

Bern Baker Brock Audio Helmet

Bern Baker Brock Audio Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 January 21, 2009

This helmet fits my head great. I actually had my head measured at 60.5cm, which is the top of the XL range, but the L fits perfectly. When I put it on without strapping it down, I can shake my head all around without it shifting, but there aren't any pressure points either. A lot of helmet companies go S, M, L, but with Bern going S to XXXL, you have a lot more options for a better fit.

I've taken a couple good falls, and the foam did a great job of absorbing the impact. I'm not flying off of 60 foot jumps, so I'd rather wear something that can take multiple crashes. It would really suck to have your helmet crack after a minor fall and be out $100+.

The audio is good, nothing fantastic, but you've gotta pay attention to the mountain too. So far it has kept my head nice and warm, but not at all sweaty. I'm really happy with this helmet.

Everything I wanted.

686 Acc Syndicate Insulated Jacket - Men's

686 Acc Syndicate Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 21, 2009

Great jacket! Warm, comfortable, the materials are really nice. I like the outer fabric, it has a subtle texture to it so it doesn't look shiny like some other waterproof materials do. Lots of pockets for just about everything, and the chest zipper is perfect. I can reach in to use my ipod or grab my phone without having to unzip the main zipper and let all of that cold air in. The handwarmer pockets are nice and deep too.

After reading all of the reviews, I bought a size Large. At 6' 2", 220lbs, it fits perfectly. The powder skirt actually comes just below my butt, instead of riding up like other jackets usually do. Good length and room for me, makes me wonder who would actually fit an XL. I guess if you're very tall or the super-baggy type, that's the way to go, but really, this jacket is plenty big enough for me.

Good goggles

Spy Zed Goggles w/Free Extra Lens

Spy Zed Goggles w/Free Extra Lens

Rating for this product: 4 January 21, 2009

The two lenses work great, the persimmon is really nice for flat light days and isn't too dark for riding at night. The mirror lens blocks a good amount of light, great for the bright days, so they make for a solid combo.

The frame is a bit on the smaller side and the strap is a bit short, but not too much so. They fit fine with my size L Bern Baker. No fog issues, but I would like a little more peripheral vision, I have to look over my shoulder a little more than I would like. For 35 on WM, I really can't complain too much though.
