Great, Durable, adjustable pack!

DAKINE Heli Pro 16L Backpack - 1000cu in

DAKINE Heli Pro 16L Backpack - 1000cu in

Rating for this product: 5 September 16, 2008

This is one hell of a winter pack. It is extremely durable! It is pretty light weight for its size and durability. It is very adjustable. So you can easily adjust this pack for a a lazy loose fit or a snug fit while you are riding no problem. Also, the snowboard carry is awesome. I have tried the skis but, I wasn't a huge fan. The diagonal loop method isn't that great on this pack.

Another handy thing about this pack is that the top pocket that you see in the picture is actually padded. It is a great spare goggle or sunglass case. I used one of these packs for 4 months while working at The Canyons and I never had a problem with it. Looking forward to using it this up coming season.

Bottom line: If you are looking for a winter pack that you can store your gear in, extra goggles or sunglasses, and something that is hydration compatible with an insulated sleeve. Look no further, this pack is the one for you.

Does the trick!

The North Face Terra 40 Backpack - 2450cu in

The North Face Terra 40 Backpack - 2450cu in

Rating for this product: 4 September 16, 2008

This is a great pack for anyone who is looking for something that is durable, adjustable, decent amount of room and that is very comfortable. I recently got to use this pack on a 4 day camping trip. I am someone who packs as light as possible. I prefer not to even bring a tent when I camp, and this pack made it for me. The only down side I found to this pack was the weight. It is almost 4lbs for a 2450cu in pack. I currently also have the GoLite Pinnacle pack as my ultralight backpack and the weight difference is pretty amazing. But, besides that this is a great pack. I would highly recommend it for anyone who is doing overnights or maybe a weekend hike (depending on how you pack).

By far the best all around easy stove to buy! BuY IT

MSR WhisperLite International Multi-Fuel Stove

MSR WhisperLite International Multi-Fuel Stove

Rating for this product: 5 September 16, 2008

Ok, I have had this stove now for 5 years and I LOVE IT! First of it is an extremely easy stove to use compared to almost every other stove out there. The WhisperLite stove gives you more then just a great reliable stove. Do not listen to the WHY SETTLE FOR LESS. This user had no idea what he was doing when he bought the stove.

Ok Reasons why the WhisperLite is one of the BEST stoves out there:
1) Extremely easy to use and to get started.
2) Extremely reliable!
3) Uses universal fuel.
--Yes, you can go to a gas station and get the gas out of the pump and run this stove (has run on just hair spray as well).
4) Packable, this stove is on the larger side for stoves but it still isn't huge. When Im out hiking, I actually keep this stove inside my pots to save space.
5) Oh yeah, Freakin reliable.
-Yup, I have been using this stove now for 5 years and only replaced 2 o-rings in the process. Now if you are wondering often I actually use this stove. I would easily say between 90-140 days a year depending on weather and work and yes ... The best damn stove I have ever used.

Cons: It is a bit on the heavier side for stoves.
It does use a little bit more fuel.
It does ........ Yup 2 cons. Can't beat that.

Yes, the Dragonfly is another great stove. Not as reliable. I have had the Dragonfly for 2 years and I have had to replace the 0-ring 8 times. I have also had it just not work on me. No reason, even after a Good cleaning. No workie. Oh yeah, its also $40 bucks more for a stove that is only uhhhh.... 1 OZ heavier! Yup, Dragonfly also weights more.

I hope that I could help you out on the stove you are going to pick up. This really is one of the best stoves out there. If you are tired of EXTREMELY load stoves, unreliable stoves, Jetboil stoves pick this puppy up and never buy another stove for the rest of your life .... :)

Is it worth it?

Burton C60 Snowboard Binding

Burton C60 Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 3 September 16, 2008

Yes these are some of the lightest bingings on the market. Yes they are sick for riding just about everywhere. And yes they are F-Bombing expensive. They are not worth the $400 you would spend on them, but they are worth picking up.

K2 Cinch CTS Snowboard Binding

K2 Cinch CTS Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 5 September 16, 2008

SO, Yes pick these bad boys up. They are sick! They give you the folding high back like Flow bindings. But, unlike Flow bindings, they actually give you control over your board. Flow bindings do not have a toe strap, just that big flap of uselessness over your foot and you get no control. These give you the folding high back and the adjust ability of the toe and ankle strap. Bomb ass bindings.

OvEr RaTeD ... just like Flow

Flow Team Binding

Flow Team Binding

Rating for this product: 1 September 16, 2008

Another low grade binding put out by flow ... Ahhh I guess it is expected now. These things are pretty heavy, they are not that responsive and they cannot hold up worth a dizzle when it comes to some more technical riding (big mountain or backcountry freestyle). Sad ... not really, to say that this is just another attempt at a dec pair of bindings. Flow has a good idea, just needs to ... add a toe strap for some control.

Great bottle ... Wish it was a bit more durable

Sigg Lifestyle Water Bottle - Screw Top - 1.0L

Sigg Lifestyle Water Bottle - Screw Top - 1.0L

Rating for this product: 3 September 10, 2008

I absolutely love having these Sigg water bottles. They are very handy and working around computers all day, its nice to be able to keep my drink on my desk rather then at my feet. With this bottle I know that I am guaranteed a great seal that wont fail on me. The only down side with this aluminum water bottle is its durability. These bottles dent extremely easily so be aware that if you drop them, bump them, or tip them over they do run the risk of denting.

Comfort along with anti fog and durabilty

Smith Phenom Turbo Fan Goggle

Smith Phenom Turbo Fan Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 September 10, 2008

These are by far the best pair of goggles I have ever owned. I have a medium to large size face and every pair of goggles that I have tried fits to small. All other goggles always feel like they are squeezing my nose. Then there is the anti fog fan in these bad boys. Wow! Thats all I really ave to say on that. The fan keeps these bad boys from fogging up and it is reliable. Then these Phenoms are durable. I actually thought I had broken them when I smashed them into a tree this past season. The only thing I got was a small scratch. Great goggles! Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a larger pair of goggles that are very comfortable, durable, and they are anti fogging.

Very good day pack

Osprey Packs Talon 11 Backpack - 600-700cu in

Osprey Packs Talon 11 Backpack - 600-700cu in

Rating for this product: 5 September 9, 2008

I picked this pack up by accident. I actually was planning on getting (and had purchased) the Talon 22. I went to the warehouse and picked up my gear and accidentally received the 11 instead. I am actually very happy that I accidentally received the Talon 11 because I would have over packed the 22 just because it has the room.
If you are looking for a great day pack that is great for extremely hot weather. Look no further. The AirScape ventilated foam HDPE back panel really allows your back to breath. This is a great back frame system that reduces back sweating on really hot days. This pack is also great for trail running and mountain biking being hydration compatible.

Be Safe

Petzl Grigri Belay Device

Petzl Grigri Belay Device

Rating for this product: 5 September 8, 2008

This is a great peace of equipment! I would recommend this for anyone who is doing some belaying, top roping, repelling, ascending a rope, or hauling gear. The grigri is a very reliable, durable piece of equipment that every climber should have. I have used this now for about 2 months and I have had no problems with it. No sharp edges or anything that will compromise your rope.

Bottom Line: If you are an active climber, recreational climber, or someone who likes to have fun. I would highly recommend picking on of these bad boys up. Great buy!

Leaves you thinking cool

Columbia Silver Ridge Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Columbia Silver Ridge Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 8, 2008

This is an awesome shirt that is quick drying and very comfortable. This shirt also includes a mesh back panel for extra venting and quicker drying. I usually wear a size medium (5'10 145lbs) and usually a medium is pretty loose fitting. The Silver ridge fits quite a bit snugger then most other medium sizes. This shirt runs on the small size. If you are looking for a looser fit or are in between sizes, you are going to want to size up. Other then that, I have no complaints about this shirt. Good choice if you plan on doing to be active out in some hot weather.

Dragon Brigade Sunglasses

Dragon Brigade Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 2 September 8, 2008

These are a great pair of sunglasses except for the fact that they do not fit that well. I normally wear medium to large sized sunglasses and these do not fit in that sizing range. If you are a large sized face I would highly recommend rethinking these sunglasses.

KEEN Maui Sandals - Men's

KEEN Maui Sandals - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 8, 2008

I picked these sandals up in May and I have literally warn these sandals every day since then. I hate wearing shoes and I was looking for a good comfortable pair of sandals that I could wear every day and not get any blisters or something that wouldn't aggravate my feet. I was extremely surprised that I have been able to wear these bad boys in sun, rain, hail, and snow ... Yes snow. When we got the bit of snow, I refused to wear shoes. I wore the Maui sandals and I was very comfortable.

Bottom Line: If you are looking for a great lifestyle or everyday sandal, pick up a pair of these Maui's and stop your search!

Great Pack

Arc'teryx Naos 55 Backpack - 3230-3600cu in

Rating for this product: 5 May 2, 2008

The Arc'teryx Noas 55 Pack is a great pack to use on longer trips. It can handle anything that mother nature has to throw. I used this pack on a 3-day trip and I loved it. I was able to carry everything that I needed and more without the worry of ruining anything because of water. I love the dry bag design of the bag as well. Not only does it make it a very secure bag, but it also makes it a very waterproof bag. On top of that, Arc'teryx has waterproof that top off the waterproofing of the Noas. This pack is also very adjustable, from the hip straps to the shoulder straps to the back support.
