Gregory Z 55 Backpack - 3050-3660cu in

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2008

Well, it's going with me on the PCT in 2009. As of right now, it's the most comfortable pack that I have owned. The shoulder straps are soft and supportive right from the get go and the waist belt, with pockets, is very comfy. I like that the hood pocket is not as large as other Gregory's (don't like to put alot on top). I'm so far able to stuff all that I need to backpack with some room leftover. I will let you know what I think of this after the trail.

Ground Evermore Down Jacket - Men's

December 5, 2008

I have not heard much about this company and cannot find a website. How does this jacket/brand compare to others like Absolute Zero/Mountain Hardwear and 8000M/Marmot? Waterproof and durability?

Mountain Hardwear Absolute Zero Mitten

December 5, 2008

Just wondering what the liner is like with this mitt? Is it similar to the MH Spearhead, lobster claw, or more along the lines of OR Altitude mitt, more functional??

MontBell Ultralight Down Jacket - Men's

MontBell Ultralight Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 28, 2008

Love the jacket! I will be using this jacket for our hike on the PCT in 09. Have been using it during night walks with the dogs and cold weather days. I will always have a shell over top as the 15 denier nylon outer shell could rip quite easily. Have had no problems with the breezes going through it but higher winds can penetrate the sewing between the baffles. Absolutely light and warm. Bought this one over the Extreme light because this comes with pockets and heavier denier nylon on the outer shell (15 on UL vs. 7 on ExL)

Salomon Trail Runner SW Shoe - Men's

November 19, 2008

A few questions... Are the soles of these shoes as ridged as the XA Comps? If going through rivers and streams, would the water flush out or be trapped in the shoe? I'm looking for a great pair of trail running shoes for Ultralight backpacking.
