Vasque Breeze GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

March 17, 2009

Question... I'm looking for a light boot for 2-5 day hikes w/ mid-weight pack (30 lbs, +/- 5 lbs). I have a pair of heavy-weight Vasque boots that I dearly love, but they are just a bit much for tromping on the AT (or similar SE location) during the summer. Currently I'm considering the following boots: Salomon Explorer GTX, Vasque Breeze GTX, Merrell Outland Mid GTX, and La Sportiva Onix GTX-XCR. I have wider-than-usual feet and a high arch. Any recommendations?

grt pants -- warm, comfy

Backcountry.com Prime Power Stretch Pant - Men's

Backcountry.com Prime Power Stretch Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 11, 2009

These are grt... Very comfy... I was a little worried about them being too heavy (warm), but they breath extremely well. Planning to buy a pair for my girlfriend. I'm 6', 195lbs, and tend to like clothing that is not snug. The large fits perfectly - I could (but hopefully won't) gain 25lbs without having to up-size.

Lafuma Pro 650 Sleeping Bag: 30 Degree Down

Lafuma Pro 650 Sleeping Bag: 30 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 October 2, 2008

Grt soft shell. Incredibly light weight. Not a huge amt of room to roll around for a 6'00" ~200lb guy, but no surprise there. Def would recommend buying one - my girlfriend threatened to steal mine as soon as I took it out of the box.
