Good question. Recently I went through two airport security checks and both times there was a ring. I has nothing on me that was metal, except I had Keen hiking shoes both times. The guard frisked me but always came up empty handed!! I suppose that it couls have been the shoes and nobody ever thought to ask me to take them off!!

I just spent 2 weeks walking through Germany and Austria in rain, heat, and cool temperatures The shoes are wonderful! Waterproof, warm, and so comfortable-my feet have never been happier! They are undoubtedly the most confortable shoes for walking I have ever owned. I have already bought another pair in another color, and I'm thinking about buying Keen winter boots as well!
