Great Sport Climbing shoe

La Sportiva Nago Climbing Shoe

La Sportiva Nago Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 4 December 15, 2008

these are great climbing shoes, I would recommend purchasing these .5 size smaller than street shoes. They stuck well to granite and wore comfortably for an all day climb at Smith Rock. warning - wear socks the die turned my feet red.

Metolius Ropemaster Rope Bag - 1224 cu in

Rating for this product: 3 December 15, 2008

this is an easy rope bag to load and unload, and should fit most 60-90M ropes. the built in tarp is also handy to keep your rope out of that dirt.

Mammut Mirage Harness

Rating for this product: 4 December 15, 2008

This is a very comfortable harness. Size is larger than I thought it would be might want to purchase a size smaller than normal waist size. Gear loops are sturdy and easy to access.

Great Reverso

Petzl Reverso 3 Belay and Rappel Device

Petzl Reverso 3 Belay and Rappel Device

Rating for this product: 4 December 15, 2008

Excellent ATC/Reverso works well with all ropes and is easy to back out rope when used in auto-lock mode. I had the old petzel reverso which was difficult at times to use in auto-lock, this redesign works better.

I have last years model of this glove and I love it, I used to have a pair of Reusch race gloves and loved them. Then I got a pair of Hestra's and never went back these gloves are amazingly warm, long lasting, and versatile.

Warm and Light

Patagonia Micro Puff Jacket - Men's

Patagonia Micro Puff Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 15, 2008

I have the hooded version and I love it. The description is off about the pockets, also in another review. The coat is very warm for the small amount of insulation, which makes it light and compact-able. Waterproof and warm making this an excellent winter jacket.

Warm, Roomy, and Light

Marmot Eco Pro 15 Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Synthetic

Marmot Eco Pro 15 Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Synthetic

Rating for this product: 5 December 15, 2008

Comfortable and warm for anyone 6' 2" and smaller. The only downside is that the bag doesn't compress to a tiny size like other bags, but it makes up for it with the lightweight (thanks synthetics!). Also environment friendly!

Excellent Expedition Bag

Kelty Light Year Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Down

Kelty Light Year Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 4 December 15, 2008

This is an expedition bag for sure. I recently used this bag on Rainier at camp Muir and was very warm and cozy. The zipper only zips halfway down the bag which makes it harder to get in and out of but that doesn't matter when its -10 outside, because once you get in this baby its warm and toasty. I would recommend a lighter smaller bag for low land camping/hiking.

Arc'teryx Khamsin 40 Backpack – 2441-2746cu in

Rating for this product: 5 December 15, 2008

This is my second Arc'teryx backpack and I love it. It stores a ton of stuff, for instance This is what I fit in it last camping trip: 1 2/person tent, 1 15 degree sleeping bag, sleeping pad, long underwear, socks, fleece, micro-puff jacket, 2 Sigg bottles, jetboil stove and pot, 2 readi-meals, GPS, multitool, map, NW climbing routes book. I also plan to use it during the winter to hike the backcountry, its very comfortable to wear on a long hike and stows a ton!!!

Compact and Stylish

Marmot Zephyr Backpack - 1600cu in

Marmot Zephyr Backpack - 1600cu in

Rating for this product: 5 December 15, 2008

Upside: This is a great day pack, but only a day pack not enough room for anything longer. I took this on a day trip up Mt St. Helens and it was comfortable and fit to my body well. It held all I needed for the day and the outside stow is great to hold a large jacket or even shoes. Top pocket is fleece lined for your electronics, which is nice to keep them from getting scratched with the rest of your stuff.

Downside: The pockets in the waist straps are nice, but hard to access when you have it buckled.
