Stomping Grounds:
Sequoia National Forest -
Bio:
I grew up with family vacations being spent camping for 2 weeks each summer. Now years later I am enjoying them even more. Being able to work in the Sierra Nevadas and going on several backpacking trips (work/pleasure) each year has been amazing. As long as I can put a pack on and get moving, you can count on finding me outside somewhere. Life is too short to sit behind a desk!

Joshua's Going Lite with Comfort
Created February 24, 2010
It was designed to be light weight and yet comfortable. One thing that may stand out is the sleeping pad. I know there are lighter ones available, but being a 210lb 6'2 guy the extra padding is nice. I always go the freeze dried food route, so all I need to do is boil water for all my meals or eat a Promax Energy Protein Bar. That is why there is only a spoon. Dromedary bag is only for base camp and if I know I will be going places where water supply is a concern. Otherwise that stays out.

Outdoor Research Advanced Bivy

You can keep your sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and bivy all rolled up together. You'll just need to buy a bigger stuff sack to hold everything. Makes for a quick deployment especially if caught by a quick and unexpected downpour.
