Bright enough to ski or bike at night with ease. The dimming function is great for reading. I have owned the same 2 for years.

I am a big guy, 240 6'1". I have the XL (blue) and L (orange). XL is great for layering with a down sweater or 200 weight fleece. The L is great with just a base layer. This new years I was ski touring with some friends, who were wearing Arc'teryx shells, all with pit zips; they all took off their proshell and xcr shells or were drenched at the top of the run. I left mine on, unzipped the front zipper (a little) and was dry at the top. Pit zips, in my (larger person) experience would be wasted with this jacket.

The material is strong enough for some occasional interactions with trees at high speeds (and even quicker stops).

Only issue, my orange L is about 4 years old and the event may be wearing out in the shoulder area and the Velcro is coming off.

Wife loves the pack. Great for snowboard carry. Great size for weekend backcountry hut trip. HOWEVER! The dye from the back foam started to shed onto my wifes arcteryx jacket.
(she has the red Stratos pack and a green jacket. These darker colours may not be a large concern esp if you have a dark colourd jacket)

I have had mine for close to 3 years. My wife has the rei, my brother has the mountain hardware (down sweaters). The montbell is the lightest. Definitely must layer with a shell as the montbell fabric feels very delicate, though no rips, snags or tears to date. Only criticism is the feathers poke through and it can be irritating on your arms if you are wearing a short sleeve top.
The sizing runs a little small.

My brother is a medium in the alpha and the small theta fits with room to spare.

Our dog is 24kg and the medium fits her perfectly. She bombs through the woods and it hasn't slowed her down at all. The only complaint is that the front strap loosens over time, which makes the bag less stable. It is easy to get on and off. We pick her up by the strap on top when we need to. The zippers are high quality but it would be easier if they opened front to back instead of back to front since when she sits I have to reach to the back. Not a big deal but room for improvement.

I got this pack a few years ago and wear it hiking in the summers and snowshoeing in the winters. It still looks brand new. The zippers are smooth, the straps are comfortable and the design is efficient whether carrying a lot of gear/weight or just water in the sleeve. The rain cover fits well. I recommend it.

I wear these shells snowboarding with either a fleece mitt or a liner glove (or both) and it is the perfect set up. I do take them off to do anything more involved than just strap in or out. The cords make taking the shells off and on quick and easy. They fit easily over my jacket cuffs. They're waterproof, windproof, durable (no wear signs after 2 yrs of carrying sharp snowboards around) and I'd buy them again in a heartbeat if I lost mine.

This top is really warm considering how thin it is. The cut is fitted but allows lots of movement. I'm 5'4, 135 and the small is tight. I wear it almost everytime I go out now that winter is here! I definitely recommend it.

This down sweater comes with me on all adventures from fall through spring. The jacket fits true to size, although the arms are a little long. It is long in the body. It compresses well and is light enough for throwing in the pack 'just in case'. I got the grey/pink and the pink is VERY hot pink - just be aware. I got a medium and I'm 5'4, 135 and it is perfect. The cut is flattering. I highly recommend it!

I use it in limited circumstances - it is a little see-through so I wear a sports bra under it or a shirt overtop. It is a great baselayer. The back did pill where my backpack rubbed it after a week of backpacking. I got a small (I'm 5'4, 135) and it fits great. It is long fitting which i like.

Really comfy, not itchy, true to size (if anything a bit loose fitting). The weight is great for hiking and it has never smelled. I don't dry it in the dryer. It hasn't pilled. I highly recommend it and will be buying more of these.

This sweater is great - I wear it every weekend. It hasn't balled or pilled at all and looks brand new despite all the use. I wash it and line dry and haven't had any trouble. It is fairly heavy weight and wouldn't be great for doing a lot of exercise in but is super for after. I'm 5'4, 135 and the small is perfect.

I got it off tramdock for a steal of a deal. Backcountry touring this weekend it definitely stopped the wind and had decent breathability. As recommended, I bought a size smaller and it fit perfectly. The one con is the core venting is blocked by backpack straps (similar to some North Face jackets)
