Sweet softshell

Stoic Welder Insulated Softshell Jacket - Men's

Stoic Welder Insulated Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 26, 2010

I am 6'2" 185lbs and I got a Large in this. It seems like everything from Stoic needs to be ordered the next size up from your normal size. I have just enough room under this softshell to add an Montbell ultralight down jacket. I normally wear a Medium in most shells.
This fits sweet all around, and the hood even fits by Variant Brim well. Not as roomy a hood as some, but good enough for my melon head with a helmet.

nice down bag

Stoic Vamp 15 Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

Stoic Vamp 15 Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 4 October 19, 2010

I used this bag on a camping/ mtn bike trip in Fruita, Co. The weather was in the low 30's at night, and this bag kept me pretty warm. I could have been warmer, but I was very comfortable for the most part. Nice and light, and the foot vent zipper worked great with no snagging. A sweet bag for an even better price.

A sweet hoody

Patagonia Slopestyle Full-Zip Hoodie - Men's

Patagonia Slopestyle Full-Zip Hoodie - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 October 7, 2010

I got this to be used for spring skiing. Like said there is no DWR to the fabric. I did a wash in soft shell waterproof, and also sprayed it down with soft shell waterproof on the outside too. It works well enough unless you are eating it a lot. I would say I am 80% satisfied with it as a soft shell type deal, but 100% satisfied if we are looking at it as the hooded non-cotton sweatshirt that it is.

The zippers in the hand-warmer pockets are awesome.

The boot to compare all others too

Salomon Malamute Snowboard Boot - Men's

Salomon Malamute Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 10, 2010

I put 3 hard seasons on these before trying my hand at skiing.

These are nice and stiff, perfect for the skin track on a splitboard when edge control matters most. They also rip on the downhill, either in high alpine bowls or tight trees.

Awesome beacon

Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Beacon

Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Beacon

Rating for this product: 5 August 10, 2010

I really like the ease of use, and simplicity. The range is good too.I need a beacon that works fast and accurately, not a beacon with a compass, thermometer, bottle opener, or coffee press accessory feature.

Not bad, but not great

Black Diamond Anarchist Avalung Winter Pack - 1953-2563 cu in

Black Diamond Anarchist Avalung Winter Pack - 1953-2563 cu in

Rating for this product: 3 August 10, 2010

I bought one of these Anarchists thinking it would be the bee's knees. It didn't even have a good place to hold my Variant Brim or G10MX despite info saying it was helmet compatible. The Avalung provided good piece of mind. That was the main feature I liked. The last thing I didn't really like was how when descending with my helmet on, the pack limited my range of movement with my helmet on. No looking up, and turning my head would always result in my helmet rubbing the pack.

Classy enough to wear to court

Mountain Khakis Teton Twill Pants - Men's

Mountain Khakis Teton Twill Pants - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 10, 2010

These pants are nice and durable, similar to Carhartt's, but they aren't gonna stay standing up in the corner stiff, like Carhartt's.

Clean and classy for fighting a speeding ticket. They don't look out of place while wearing a shirt and tie, or when shoveling snow.

warm and light weight

MontBell Ex Light Down Jacket - Men's

MontBell Ex Light Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 10, 2010

This jacket is the perfect weight for wearing alone, or as a layer under a shell for those bone-chilling cold days when making laps riding chairs.

My friends call it my Michael Jackson jacket because of the luster and shine of the exterior, similar to the Thriller jacket.

Great shades

Smith Threshold Interchangeable Sunglasses - Polarized

Smith Threshold Interchangeable Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 5 August 10, 2010

I love my Thresholds. The lenses are the perfect size for keeping bugs, rocks, and dirt out of your eyes when mountain biking. The polarized lenses work awesome when paddling rivers so you can see the rocks sleeping below the surface of the water.

Good 75% tent

The North Face Rock 22 Bx Tent: 2-Person 3-Season

The North Face Rock 22 Bx Tent: 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 3 August 10, 2010

I have 40 or so nights in this tent. It works well most of the time, like any 3 season tent should. The all mesh upper tent body is nice to catch the summer breeze. The 2 doors are awesome!

The downside to the mesh is if the winds are blowing and its sandy where you are camping. Sand blows right under the fly and through the mesh tent body into the living area.

Sweet on/off piste boot

Garmont Syner-G Telemark Boot - Men's

Garmont Syner-G Telemark Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 August 10, 2010

I used these with Hammerhead bindings and Voile Hardwire 3-pins to push skis 100+ days last season and they were pretty sweet. I thought at first I might be missing something (like a 4th buckle), but they worked well.
