Volkl Ledge Alpine Ski

February 8, 2009

Yes, the length is good for you, but I am not sure if you really want the Volkl Ledge. I would say the Dynastarr Troublemakers are better. But if you want to buy new skis becuase of the length and really want these your welcome. Otherwise, I'd look for something different.

K2 Disorderly Alpine Ski

February 8, 2009

I have tried these skis a couple of times and they are very heavy. For me thats a negative, cus i like playful skis. Also its not very good at groomers, but i can give it cred for spin and stability in air. Because it is a center mounted ski I feel like you have 100% control spinning jumps, which is important and the weight doesent really matter in air... I would say Its not a very good all-mountain ski, but if you want a park ski, but want to be able to ski a little bit all-mountain I would go for these, otherwise look at: Armada Ar6 , Line Anthem, k2 extreme, Line Blend or if you like to try something new: Armada Alpha 1 :=) This was my opinion...

Armada AR6 = Versatile

Armada AR6 Alpine Ski

Armada AR6 Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 February 2, 2009

I have owned these skis for a while now, so I figured it was time to write a review.
The Armada AR6 is a good, versatile ski. It does good in the park and grooms, but also does fine in the powder. I have used these skis on rails a whole lot and it seems durable. No serious damage at all... The S7 base is GREAT! I would guess its the strongest, most durable base on the marked today and the edges seems to be holding together alright.
The Armada Ar6's are light and quite soft skis, which suits me perfectly. I would say its a fun, playful ski you can use not only in the park, but all over the mountain.

Burton AK 2L Stagger Jacket - Men's

September 23, 2008

Special Blend usually run quite large so ifthe you have an XL SB jacket XL would probably be okay now, Depends on the jacket of course. Sizing chart says about the Burton AK: Standard but loose fit; not your average tightbackcountry fit. If the Special Blend is good as XL this will not be too big, but it might be a little bit too small with the Standard but loose fit... Thats my opinion, hope it helps :D

Special Blend Brigade Snowboard Jacket - Men's

Special Blend Brigade Snowboard Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 22, 2008

The Special Blend Brigade Snowboard Jacket is my favorite! It is really waterproof and breatable with 2 large chest-pockets and 2 smaller hand-pockets. It comes in cool colors and I love the powder skirt. This jacket has great venting and has a quite large fit as I like it! If you dont like your jackets big and baggy go with a smaller size.
Bottom line: The Special Blend Brigade Snowboard Jacket - Men's is a warm, cool snowboard jacket! The best if you ask me.

This has a mid-baggy to normal fit and you have alot of room to move in! If they are too big in the waist you can wear a belt because it has loops. It has OK venting and ALOT of BIG pockets! REALLY NICE PANT FOR SKIING/SNOWBOARDING!

Electric EG2 Goggle

September 17, 2008

Maybe, because these goggles are so HUGE they dont fit with many helmets, but ofcourse you can try. I suggest you buy The Smith Holt Helmet if you really want this goggle, because it has a tall fit and would match with the EG2, but as I sayd - You can try, but I would say the goggle are too big for the Giro Encore 2 helmet. :) Do whatever you want

Burton Element Jacket - Men's

September 17, 2008

You'd be warm enough with a hoody or something undeneath, but not a t-shirt in the winter. This jacket has quite low breathablity and waterproofness so I would actually recommend another jacket for snowboarding/skiing if you plan to ski alot in slushy weather and wet powder. If you keep in the slopes this jacket will be great. And In backcountry aswell, if its not too hot outside and the snow start melting.

Powder!

Lib Technologies NAS Freeride Alpine Ski

Lib Technologies NAS Freeride Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 September 16, 2008

Lib Technologies NAS Freeride Alpine Ski is a great fatty ski for powder riding! With a 98mm-103mm underfoot (depends on length) you will definitely not have a problem with sinking in the powder. These skis have a sick design and they are a twintip ski so you will not have a problem landing switch after a truckdriver 900 of a huge cliff in the powder. For me these skis are too expensive, but if your looking Powder/freeride ski that looks sick go for this Lib!

Powder <3

Moment Comi Alpine Ski

Moment Comi Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 4 September 16, 2008

This ski is definitely a ski made for powder! It has an HUGE underfoot for powder skiing, and it is also a twintip ski so you can drop from the cliffs and land switch in the deep powder. I would really recommend this ski for powder skiing and big-mountain, but if your looking for a ski that can do it all this is not it. 4 star powder ski! (Not the best on the market)

Volkl Gotama Alpine Ski

Volkl Gotama Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 September 16, 2008

This ski is made for powder skiing. It has a quite fat underfoot so you'll float on the powder. I was surprised by the tail. Its bigger than other big-mountain skis so you'll definitely not have a problem landing switch after a huge drop in the deep powder! This ski has a cool asian design, so If you're looking for a powder-oriented big-mountain freeride ski, Why the hell not?!

Electric EG2 Goggle

September 14, 2008

When I look at the Giro Encore 2 Helmet It looks like the Electric EG2 Goggle will be too big, but of course it depends on the size of the helmet and if you like to have the goggle on the tip of your nose. I bought the helmet in Matte White with the Electric EG1 Chrome Goggle - Chrome Bandana White/Silver Chrome, which can be found at http://www.backcountryoutlet.com/outlet/ELC0096/Electric-EG1-Chrome-Goggle-Chrome.html:)

Volkl Bridge Alpine Ski

September 13, 2008

The Salomon 1080 is a great binding, but my experience is that it is more of a park binding. As far as I can see these are a mainly powder ski with its wide underfoot, but of course able to rip the park too. If you want this ski for its versitility and you are going to do alot of park I would recommend the 1080, but if your buying this Völkl ski for its amazing powder abilitys I would go for a stiffer binding.
