Good for rain

Columbia Cascade Canyon Shell - Women's

I bought this since it occasionally rains in Minneapolis. This jacket does not win style points, but it's a pretty damn good waterproof jacket for a good deal. I like all the pockets too.

Length is average, maybe on the long side. I happen to have a long torso, so if I bike in this, it just covers my back.

Sizing is pretty true. I usually wear a 6-8 on top and the Small fit perfectly. However, I returned it for the Medium so I can wear a sweater underneath.

Dress for travel

Icebreaker SuperFine Pizzario Dress - Women's

Icebreaker SuperFine Pizzario Dress - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 November 10, 2009

Heading out to NY and Chicago in a few weeks for weekend trips, so I wanted something that was not sweatpants yet easy to travel with AND stylish. Dresses are always good to travel with; if it's colder throw some tights and a cardigan on, if it's warmer, then you don't need anything else.I was eyeing this dress for a long time and when Backcountry had a fall sale, I snatched it up. First off, I'm a big fan of wool. That means the black won't fade for a long time, and I don't have to worry about traveling for a few days without washing it. I was going to stash it in my tote bag in case my luggage gets lost. That's another thing about wool; it doesn't wrinkle easily. This dress is not silky-soft but very soft for wool. The weight of the fabric is medium, so while not totally see-though, it's not totally opaque in the skirt area either. I'll probably wear a slip under this anyway, since I'm a classy lady.About sizing: I'm a 6-8 on top and an 8-10 on the bottom. Originally I got the Medium, which fit well on top but was too snug in the skirt area. The Large fit a lot better - thanks for the great service, guys! - so buy according to your pant size.
