Great backpack!

Deuter Futura Vario 50+10 Backpack - 3050cu in

Deuter Futura Vario 50+10 Backpack - 3050cu in

Rating for this product: 5 February 23, 2009

This is one impressive backpack. There is a place for anything you need to store. I used this for a 2 night stay with a couple of friends at Cayo Costa Park in Florida and was able bring all the things I needed and used in this one backpack which weighed 40#. Just to give you an idea, here was my list:

Nemo Morpho tent w/paw & footprint
Mountain Hardware 45 deg sleeping bag
Pacific Outdoor sleeping pad
Jetboil cooking system
Mountain House Food ( 6 pks ) w/a few snack bars
Deuter 2L water bladder
Rain gear & extra clothes
Misc: firestarter,camera,monocular,leatherman,hat,canteen,rope,
flipflops,machete,packtowels,cell phone,hygiene supplies
first aid kit,and maybe couple of others I forgot to mention.

Great water canteen

Klean Kanteen Water Bottle - 18oz

Klean Kanteen Water Bottle - 18oz

Rating for this product: 5 February 3, 2009

This is not a thermos. It's best use is to hold your cooking water. 18oz is just not big enough on camping/hiking trips. I found myself having to fill up too often. Beside all that it's still a great canteen. The loop cap comes in very handy. I just need to get a bigger size.

Good sleeping bag

Mountain Hardwear Lamina 45 Sleeping Bag: 45 Degree Synthetic

Mountain Hardwear Lamina 45 Sleeping Bag: 45 Degree Synthetic

Rating for this product: 5 February 3, 2009

Light weight, compact, and comfortable. Temperatures in the mid 30's got me thinking that I should have gotten the 32 deg bag instead but with extra clothing on, it did just fine.

Ex Officio Trip'r Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 3, 2009

Very comfortable, light weight, clever design. This shirt is so light weight and cool to wear that you feel as though your not wearing a shirt at all. I love how the buttons are clothed on for strength and not sewn on. I bought 2 of these shirts.

Mountain House Scrambled Eggs w/ Bacon - Breakfast Entree

Mountain House Scrambled Eggs w/ Bacon - Breakfast Entree

Rating for this product: 4 December 29, 2008

This is my first time trying out Mountain House food. It's not like real bacon and eggs but it's edible. You get a pretty good 1 serving size. A more backpack friendly design of the package would be a plus.
