Stomping Grounds:
I frolic everywhere and anywhere in the beautiful Wasatch mountains: Snowbird, Brighton, Alta - or hiking in the backcountry are my favorites. -
Bio:
When my alarm goes off at 4am and I am comfy in my bed - you know what gets me out of bed, besides the DEEEEP snow I am about to go play in? It's the mystery of the day. The mystery of the mountains. I love it. It's like a mental chess game against the mountains. You exercise your patience and perception in the elements, do it correctly, and the mountains become your good friend. Nothing like hiking in the dark up a mountain and sitting pretty on top of a line when the sunrises. STOKED

Julian Carr's Day Tour in the Wasatch
Created December 8, 2009
I spend countless backcountry days in the Wastach. This is my standard set up for being in the backcountry for, typically, 6 to 10 hours. When I'm back there, I need to rely on my standard ski set-up, I don't want any compromise in my bindings or boots, so I don't go with a Fritschi set-up. And I like to select gear as light as possible - from my skis to to my helmet.

Smith 2008 Variant Helmet
November 29, 2009
I prefer to wear this helmet while skiing dangerous lines, I feel really safe in this helmet, but sometimes I wear the Variant when the snow is deeeep! I like the white one.

Benchetlers Are The Sickest Ski Ever
Atomic Bent Chetler Ski
October 28, 2009
That's right. I love these skis. They charge the chop. Float the pow. Ski stable in high-speed lines. Enjoy their time in the air. And, shit, take em on the groomer! The ski is amazing. And light!

Dash Longe Pro Model
Discrete Dashonator Beanie
October 23, 2009
This beanie was personally designed by pro skier Dash Longe. The robot sew-on label design was created by Dash's twin brother Hunter Longe. The cuff on the beanie is reversible with a stripe. The artwork is on both sides of the tag, so you can rock the beanie with or without cuff. 2 styles, one to shred, one to kick it with. The beanie is ribbed and has a tight, relaxed, grippy fit for riding. This beanie is silly fried mashed potatoes fresh, gumby gold style.

Skullcandy Icon 2 Headphones
August 29, 2009
If you've worn headphones when you ride before, then you know you need to keep the suckers on your head. Well these babies have sticky rubber grip on the underneath up top. So they don't slide around on your beanie/head. Get some/after it!

Bumpin Tunes
Skullcandy Recruit Headphones
March 7, 2009
I've become a big fan of listening to music on the recruits when I ski. You can wear them over your goggles VS wearing your goggles over the headphones. You can ski aggressively and not worry about them falling off. You can pull the headphones easily to the side to hear people or when you are skiing, if you prefer to hear the snow instead of the music, like me.

Smith Phenom Turbo Fan Goggle
February 5, 2009
Here I am laughing on a cold, snowy, day of skiing/shooting pictures. When it's hot one minute when you are hiking, then really cold the next, when you start skiing you need to be able to rely on your goggles to not fog. This is NEVER an issue with the Smith Phenom Turbo Fan Goggle.

Atomic Bent Chetler Ski
December 22, 2009
Hey William- I am 5'11" and weigh 165 lbs, I would say these skis are medium to soft in the tips, and medium to stiff in the tails. A perfect blend with the mild rocker combo. A playful ski up front, and a hard charging ski in the back. Best ski on the market.

Spyder Godfather Insulated Jacket - Men's
November 29, 2009
Yo Webster. What kind of base layers you talking about? If you got bulky layers, then yes you should - but if you have pretty low profile layering, then don't buy up on size. This jacket has a nice long/trim, but baggy fit. The jacket is rad, just don't buy too big, cause the jacket is a perfect longer length to start.

Atomic Bent Chetler Ski
October 28, 2009
Hey, read the review above for JJ reference:
written by eri3374524:
...is how my very knowledgeable and trusty ski tech buddy describes the Bent Chetlers.
He has skied pretty much every comparable ski offered by Volkl, Armada, K2, Rossignol, Line, other Atomic models, etc (he specifically made comparisons to the JJ, Hellbent, and Chopstick). According to him, the BC's are hands down- by far, the best ski out of the bunch. To avoid redundancy, his comments echo all the strong positives that have already been posted.
After a long conversation and some research, I took the plunge on faith alone. I opted to set up my BC's with Jesters, mounted 2.5 back from factory recommendation. I'll post my experience once I have had the chance to ski them.
