Zamberlan Skill GT Boot - Men's

Love them...I have had 3 pairs of Scarpa SLM3 prior to these; although the SL's are great boots for off-track walking with heavy loads they are like walking in cinder blocks when on a track & they are very heavy. These Zamberlans provide comparable support IMHO & are so much lighter that they reduce overall load & hence fatigue. They are about as comfortable as a cushioned set of sneakers & waterproof to boot (pardon the pun). I will not go back to Scarpas now, these Zamberlans will be my go to boots for years to come. In my group of Peak Bagging buddies we are almost all now wearing these boots...couldn't be happier :-)

I am trying to decide between this bag & the Marmot Helium

Rab Neutrino Endurance 600 Sleeping Bag: -7 Degree Down

I am trying to decide between this bag & the Marmot Helium Membrain (I have just purchased, but not yet used, a RAB Neutrino Endurance downie & it looks excellent). The Marmot by dimension seems to be a lot roomier, a comment some have made regarding this bag; not sure if I think this is a good thing as it equates to more air flow, particularly with no draft collar & probably meaning a colder bag? The RAB's seem to be a lot slimmer cut (truer mummy shape) & hence are probably more efficient? Can someone comment on this please? Also, how would people rate the outer fabrics of the 2 bags, the Membrain sounds like it is near waterproof yet the RAB's Pertex Endurance is pretty close to waterproof. As there are no reviews on these RAB bags yet any commenst / descriptions would be very useful in helping me decide. Thanks :-)

Marmot Helium MemBrain Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down

I am trying to decide between this bag & the new RAB Neutrino 400 or 600 bags (I have just purchased, but not yet used, a RAB Neutrino Endurance downie & it looks excellent). Sorry, more sizing questions as I am concerned about dishing out so much on this jacket, particularly forwarding / shipping costs to Tasmania, Australia. I am 5'9" & 170 lb, athletic build (wide back, I often find gear fitting tight under the arms). The most I would layer under this jacket would be a baselayer t-shirt, smartwool mid crew & a windstopper vest. Some (further) advice on sizing would be very much appreciated - Medium or Small size??? Thanks in advance :-)

Is there a marked difference b/w this boot & the more expensive

Dynafit ZZeus TF-X Ski Boot - Men's

Is there a marked difference b/w this boot & the more expensive Titan TF-X? ie. would I get a lot more out of the TF-X?... I intend to use either of these boots with Dynafit bindings & Black Crows Corvus 175 skis (135-105-126) - backcountry set up for Australia / New Zealand. Thanks in advance...oh, I weigh 75kgs & ski fairly aggressively, 35+ years skiing. Thanks again :-)

Are these a tight fit in the crotch as described by some who have reviewed? (ie. see review on dogfunk). No snowboarding pant should be tight in this or any other area really, they are not advertised as a tight fit...???

Pro Shell perfection

Marmot Alpinist Jacket - Men's

I have had & shopped for dozens of shell jackets & this one has come up trumps. Fit is perfect (i'm 5'9", 78kg and athletic / stocky and the medium is perfect). Love the stretch Pro-Shell fabric, moves the way you want a shell jacket to move. Full complement of features / pockets without being excessive. My only negative comment would be the cuff diameter - a little tighter around the wrists than you'd hope, but only marginally so. All in all this is my perfect shell jacket for backcountry skiing and peak bagging; yet to see how it stands to long term abuse in Tasmanias wild off track scrub, which is notoriously brutal.

Nearly perfect

Outdoor Research Maximus Jacket - Men's

So close to being my perfect shell jacket. Simple, practical design and generally a great fit; perfect length in the body and the arms. My main gripe is the fit under the arms - it is described as an athletic fit jacket but you might need an un-athlectis build, it is very tight under the arms, annoyingly so. Won't have much room for more than a merino base layer under this one. I am 174cm and about 80 kilos and the medium is close toperfect, apart from my stocky bui
D obviously restricting the tight fit around the upper back and under the arms. Still, others may not find this problem and in this instance it would be the perfect shell. 1 star short of perfect for the fit from me.
