Voile Telepro Shovel

Actually ... Voile makes a saw that fits. The downside is that you have to buy a new handle that matches the saw, and the handle is a T rather than D... I got one direct from Voile and am very happy with it. In theory, it fits all of their shovel blades.

The saw is not as versatile as, say, the BD saw which attaches to various poles; can't really use it to cut a full-size rutschblock. But works great for snow shelters!

Can't find one locally ... I'm trying to compare this to the Patagonia Nanopuff Hoody. I have a nano pullover that I love, but want something warmer and sized a bit larger to replace my old oversized belay jacket (Pata Micropuff, which now just looks like a sack). The micropuff line is gone, and I think the nano isn't going to be quite warm enough...

Great baselayer for 'colder'

Since most of my winter play happens in the Sierra Nevada, I don't really do *cold* - we get worried when the temp gets into the teens. Mostly I'm out and about in the 20s. The long zip works great for venting excess heat when I'm moving. I'll strip down to just this for XC or skinning up, and then throw a shell or vest over it for the descent and be completely happy.

The thumbholes are a new thing for me and I rather like them, though it makes getting at my watch more of a pain.

Does Petzl specify a lifetime for these?

Also, is there any way to get replacement suspension bits? I tripped over mine and broke a plastic piece where it goes into the side wheel that adjusts at the nape of the neck. If there's a cheaper option than just replacing the helmet, I'd love to hear about it!

I'm trying to choose between Gore-Tex Pro and Conduit - any suggestions? I tend to sweat like crazy and breathability matters to me a lot. I usually go with a soft-shell for this reason, but am starting to do some things where a hardshell is needed.
