The North Face Prophecy Jacket - Men's

November 6, 2010

i think this jacket is pretty similar to the venture jacket, except for the pockets. So, it is very lightweight, very thin, extremily waterproof shell, that won´t hold up the rubbing on the shoulders.

Like Blaine said, go for something more heavy if you are going to hike around with heavy packs. If you are going with a light daypack go with the venture parka or jacket, this one is more climbing i think.

Great lightweight parka

The North Face Venture Parka - Men's

The North Face Venture Parka - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 14, 2010

I have got an m size and it fits perfect. I am 185 cm tall and 104 inches chest and 85 kg. Not too loose not to fit. I can wear a shirt and a softshell jacket under it and it does not feel tight at all. The extra lenght compared with the jacket is perfect for covering below the waist on rainy days, regarding the waterproofnes it works perfectly, but there can put a little warm or sticky, the pit zips vent could help. The pockets are mesh and roomy. The inside pockets are kind of small. The hood adjust perfectly to the head, on the sides and in the back. You can adjust the parka in the waist and the hem. You can get the perfect fit. The cuffs have velcro, and you can stow the parka into the left pocket. I got the brown for 78 bucks, great deal. I have to say that it is only a shell, not to be wear alone, Bottom line: perfect lightweight rain shell

Indian Clay Red

The North Face Vault Backpack - 1850cu in

The North Face Vault Backpack - 1850cu in

Rating for this product: 4 March 11, 2009

the indian clay red, is 90 % red, and the other color is like bordeaux (in the picture is like black)
The backpack is nice, has a lot of room, my 15.4 inches laptop with it's own sleeve fits just right, and also can carry some books.
Not the perfect one for hiking, it does not have chest belt or waist belt, but great for school .

It's very comfortable, great quality materials and for 27 bucks i think it's a perfect deal.
Thanks

The North Face Horizon Convertible Pant - Men's

The North Face Horizon Convertible Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 11, 2009

i am 186 cm tall 82 kg and 33 inches inseam, 38 waist and 44 hip, for this i thought that i need an L size, but chating with a gearfreak he told me to get an xl because he has one and fits small.
The XL fits great everywhere, except that it is a little long on the legs, may a short would be better for me, i got the regular one.
it has a snap closure, and a adjustable drawcord on the waist, also it is stretchable on the hips, and has belt loops- the hand pockets are very comfortable, the left one also has zip closure. the side pockets are too small, only fits 3 fingers, i think it's for keys or coins, or mobile, or a small mediaplayer. the backpockets has button closure. the zips on each leg have different colours, so you don't get confused, and the legs zippers at the bottom are very convenient so you do not have to take your shoes off when it gets hot. They are very lightweight.
i got the soil brown, it is darker than the picture, and for 36 bucks it's a
nice quality product
take my advice get a size bigger than you think

I also used it for running on the park on windy and chilli days.

Great jacket 4/5 Stars

Columbia Ballistic Insulated Jacket - Men's

Columbia Ballistic Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 October 23, 2008

First of all. I have The Dark Navy and Black,L size. it's 2007 model, so it doesn'´t have powder skirt, that's a shame, the 2008 model does. I am 1.85 m. Tall and my weigth is 85 kg aprox. Size: The Jacket is long, it's a Parka, below my waist, and for a reference the two hand pockets of it are at the same place as my jean's pockets. It fits great not too baggy, not too tight. Now it's spring in argentina (where i live) so i didn't use it with a lot of clothes underneath it. Only With a T shirt. I think when it gets colder with a fleece jacket, the fit would be the right one. If you use it only with the t shirt i think for me a size M would be great. but that's not the purpose of a winterjacket. It's Active Fit, so if you have a big belly consider that. Insulation: It's very warm, i think that with a baselayer of fleece or a softshell, you are done. Waterproof: I worn it on the rain, and the waterproof rating it's excellent, you won't get wet. the raindrops slide right off it. I got home and shoke it and it's dry again. Pockets: it has 2 hand pockets with no zip covered inside with a soft material, 2 chest pockets, one with zip also with soft material inside. one arm pocket. On the inside you have one big pocket with no zip, one with zip for wallet or cell phone and on the left side you have the media pocket with a button. Also has a cord for the earphnoes. Coreventing: very long double Pitzips on each arm. ;) Hood: Great hood, zip off, and velcro. Adjustable on the neck and around your head. Weight: It's mediumweigth. Others: Waist and end of jacket adjustable drawcords. Ballistic material on arms and shoulders it'´s great for prevent the rubbing on these sensitive areas, especially from backpacks. Velcro Handcuffs, the cut of them it's not straigth, really comfortable. Bottom Line: Cons: I missed the powder skirt,so i think for skiing it's not the best jacket. And the waistdrawcord doesn't adjust too much, you get the feeling that if you adjust too much it's gonna break. Pros: The size and lenght. (You get the feeling of being all covered with this jacket, especially on really cold days) The materials: Really waterproof. The Hood. the pockets. the coreventing. the ballistic material I am very pleased with this jacket, i recommend it.
