  • Stomping Grounds:

    Tahoe, San Francisco, the world.
  • Bio:

About three months away from starting my round-the-world trip focusing on surfing, snowboarding, scuba diving and trekking. So I am currently focused on gear that travel light and will carry me through the changing seasons. In the meantime, I'm snowboarding/splitboarding as much as I can, and surfing and riding my bike when the weather doesn't cooperate in Tahoe.

Arc'teryx Beta SL Jacket - Women's - DO NOT USE

Arc'teryx Beta SL Jacket - Women's - DO NOT USE

Rating for this product: 2 May 3, 2010

I'm a big fan of Arc'teryx items but this jacket just didn't fit very well - namely the hood is doesn't come down around enough my face/head and when cinches it pulls so it's going back. The waterproof-ness was solid though, though some pit zips would have been awesome too.

Awesome Travel Dress

prAna Lola Dress - Women's

prAna Lola Dress - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 30, 2010

I have a bunch of Prana tanks but have never really thought about trying and getting their dresses until recently when I was in search of a dress that travels well and was versatile. It was very important for me to have a supportive shelf bra as I didn't want to drag along a strapless bra on my RTW trip. Well the Lola dress fits the bill on all accounts. The cross straps make the dress feel very secure (none of the pulling and adjusting). It's fitted in the torso but very forgiving in the waist and below area. In black, the dress is easily dressed up with some accessories & strappy sandals. I'm 5'6" and 140 pounds and the small fits well. The medium was too loose around the chest (I'm a 34B/C). I'm now tempted to buy another one in a different color. Great dress!

Portable little jacket

Arc'teryx Beta SL Jacket - Women's - DO NOT USE

Arc'teryx Beta SL Jacket - Women's - DO NOT USE

Rating for this product: 4 March 30, 2010

I've used this jacket as an alternative to my bulkier arc'teryx sidewinder jacket on backcountry tours cause I tend to get very hot while skinning up the mountain. I like how very light it is and that it packs down to nothing. The only complaint I have is that I wish it had pit zips, but I knew that going in. I have also worn the jacket in the city during light rainstorms and it stands up. I'm 5'6" and about 140 pounds and the medium fits very well.

Good Fit

Coleman SUV QuickBed

Coleman SUV QuickBed

Rating for this product: 4 November 21, 2008

I've got a 09 Subaru Forester and this airbed fits it pretty well. A bit long but just hang it over the back of the seats and it's no problem. Glad i went with the car airbed because a regular sized air bed would be even longer. I got the DC 12 Volt quick pump and it worked perfectly - and was especially convenient given I've got an outlet in the truck area.

I haven't actually spent a night on it but it felt pretty comfortable.
