Big Agnes Farwell Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Synthetic

December 29, 2008

I'm 6' and have tried stuffing myself in a regulars, rated for a max height at 6', and I felt like a sardine in them. My suggestion is google big and tall sleeping bags and see what you can find.

Therm-a-Rest Z-Lite Sleeping Pad

Therm-a-Rest Z-Lite Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 3 November 26, 2008

Pretty good pad for the money. After two weeks of on it thought you will notice the egg crate will start to crumple and wont be as comfortable as when you first purchased it. Great pad if your a weekend backpacker or trying to save weight, but for me a good nights sleep is worth a little bit extra money.

Seirus Combo Clava

Seirus Combo Clava

Rating for this product: 5 November 24, 2008

I absolutely love this thing. I was surprised to find that when you cover your face with the mouth part you don't get that typical clammy feeling, which is nice if your like me and, even when it's freezing cold, don't like to put your head in the hood part of a sleeping bag. For the price you can't beat this, the only quarrel i have is that if you wear sunglasses with this on they will fog up but this is to be expected.

Osprey Packs Aura 65 Backpack - 3800-4200cu in - Women's

Osprey Packs Aura 65 Backpack - 3800-4200cu in - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 November 24, 2008

This is a great pack, I love the mesh back, the side compartments as well as the small hip pouches. The only problem you will find if you buy this pack is that it will be difficult to pack it at first(give it about 4 trips) due to the curvature of the back part. Compression sacks will always be your friend, One thing I have found in order to maximize space for longer trips is i put my tent on the outside straps and then my pad between the main part of the bag and the brain of the pack. Once you learn how to pack this pack it is amazing, i wont buy another pack until this mine breaks, which doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon.

Sigg Traveler Water Bottle - 0.6L

Sigg Traveler Water Bottle - 0.6L

Rating for this product: 5 November 24, 2008

While this is a very nice water container, I've found better uses for it. Because it is so small, I typically use it as a flask which is nice since people think your just drinking water.

Costa Del Mar Harpoon Polarized Sunglasses - Costa 400 Glass Lens

Never in a million years would pay $100+ for a pair of sunglass, but after receiving these as a gift I now know you get what you pay for. These sunglasses are great very durable (dropped them a few times and no scratches) and stylish, I just hope mine never break or else I would have to buy another pair, but costa is known to back up their products pretty well with the lifetime warranty.

MSR Pocket Rocket Stove

MSR Pocket Rocket Stove

Rating for this product: 4 August 7, 2008

I use this stove with the GSI Dualist (which makes for an awesome combo) and I couldn't be happier. While it does take some time to boil up some water, its serves its purpose well light, efficient, and cheep PLUS NO PRIMING. If your worried about using iso-butane in winter don't be. It works just fine in the cold, but for safe measure you can always just throw it in the bottom of your sleeping bag.
