REALLY nice.

SmartWool Valley V-Neck Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

SmartWool Valley V-Neck Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 September 29, 2010

Just bought two of these (one in black, one in green), and I think they're probably the nicest merino shirts I own, which is saying a lot because I have a bunch from SmartWool, Icebreaker and Stoic. The wool on these is lightweight but not remotely see-through. Extremely smooth hand and a nice drape-- you could probably pair it with a casual skirt and feel okay about it. In fact, I'm sure that I'll do just that, right after wearing it running/climbing/whatever! The green color is slightly brighter than it appears on my monitor, but it's not shocking. About fit: this shirt is cut a little long (hits me mid-hip, I'm 5'4") and has a relatively deep V, though not so deep that I'd worry about needing to cover up. I think it runs just a little on the big side for something that claims a "slim" fit, which is to say that the CUT is slim but the FIT is more toward standard. I'm a 36C and the medium is plenty roomy. If I run into any wear/durability issues, I'll update, but these feel pretty sturdy to me.

What a relief.

CW-X Xtra Support Zip Bra - Women's

CW-X Xtra Support Zip Bra - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 August 16, 2010

This is the only sports bra I have ever found that provides enough support that I can run comfortably... and I've tried them all. Really. Moving Comfort, Natori, Enell, you name it, I've tried it. I own 3 of these and just ordered 2 more. The down side: it's a double layer on the front, so it's pretty warm. And yes, I have had the bottom of the zipper cause chafing once or twice, so I use Body Glide in that spot. But really, it's worth it for all the reasons cited in all these reviews-- amazing support, easy on-off, and good enough coverage that you can wear it alone if you want to. Runs reasonably true to size, maybe just a tiny bit small. I vary between 36C and small 36D, and I wear a 36D in this bra.

Best. Top. Ever.

Icebreaker Nature Delta Scoop Top - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Icebreaker Nature Delta Scoop Top - Long-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 4, 2009

If I could get away with never taking this off... It's a great top. Adds good warmth, but doesn't make you sweat. Just thick enough not to be see-through, so you can wear it alone if you want. I worried a bunch over sizing, so in case this helps anyone: I'm 5'4", 125, 36C-D. I bought the medium and it's fine-- close-fitting, but not skin-tight. My only complaint is that the elastic on the sleeves is kinda tight, so if you, like me, push up your sleeves a lot, expect some nasty marks on your forearms.
